I usually spend my time listening to and writing about great music. But sometimes my attention goes to not so good music (such as most of the crappy music on MySpace) and then there's Hollywood Undead whose music is stunningly bad.

I will give them one point: Most bad music is merely forgetable. Hollywood Undead is not forgetable. It's so bad that it's seared into your mind like some sort of cosmic joke. Basically the big positive thing I can say about Hollywood Undead is that their music is awful in a unique way.

I think what really amazes me about these guys is how many fans they have and the millions of listens they've got in MySpace. While many much more talented bands/artists on MySpace are mostly ignored these guys are currently nearing play # 100 million (no, I am not joking) on MySpace.

There's a lot of horrible music "out there" as most who like real music already know. Just turn your local pop radio station on and you'll hear what I mean. So what sets Hollywood Undead apart as being uniquely awful?

I think it's the way they blend together all of the worst aspects of every popular music genre of the last 10 years. It's like The Backstreet Boys meet Limp Bizkit or something. It somehow takes two types of music that were already horrendous and makes them even worse by combining their worst natures together in order to create some kind of super beast representation of everything wrong about pop music today.
