My view on the life of Jesus Christ.

Browsing through the requests on Hub Pages I came across this one. It simply stated Holy Bible, so naturally with my views and always enjoying starting trouble I clicked on it. There was no other statements and I checked the profile of the individual making the request. The person had another hub that was quite pro-christian. Enjoying starting a fight but not wanting to insult anyone's religious views I moved on. Curiousity got the best of me and so I went back and emailed him. The reply was that the individual wanted a hub on the life of Jesus Christ. After much thought I decided to do what my scientific and agnostic views are on this subject. Realizing that neither one of us is going to change our stance and no confrontation should come of this I said to myself "why not". This is my stance.

Being raised in a Roman Catholic family and going through all of the processes; altar boy, choir, school, the whole 9 yards I was taught certain things. Being a member of F.C.A. as well as coaching, teaching, and counsler at camps, I ended up learning more. Joining the science community and doing my own private research, I lost my faith. The scientific community did not discourage my faith, which has some of the strongest most committed Christian's, and I TRIED HARD to combine both. I just could not. This is what I have learned.

Jesus Christ as we know is a title and a Greek name was supposedly born in Bethleham. Jesus the "annoited one" was taken from his birth home and he and his family were taken to Egypt. Now lets stop here, and take some different approaches. We do not know his first name or last. We know that his bloodline is traceable "according to the bible" back to the great Jewish Kings. We know that David's homeland was Bethleham and was in Jesus's bloodline. This would show that Jesus WAS IN LINE FOR THE THRONE! We know that during this period there was strife and uprising within the Jewish community and that Rome had the "Holy Land" under it's thumb. We know there is no documentation that there was a census, BUT if Jesus, and his brother Thomas (maybe twin) were in line for the throne and leaving would be almost necessary. If Herod had heard about a threat to his throne, he would have killed the age group off to keep in power. Didn't work out for him that well did it?

Now Jesus upon return grew up and was well instructed in the Jewish law and religion. He obviously had Essene training, if not been a full member. Now Essene's were not supposed to marry but there were exceptions to the case. I go over this in my other hub about Mary Magdalene. Most likely married to Mary Magdalene (who was very wealthy and of high import) he set out to claim his rightful place. Whether this was prearranged or by accident, most likely the former if you believe seperate stories I don't have a clue. I also do not know if he met her during the rebellion or before, but that is another thing that as of now no proof exists. Jesus was also called Jesus of Nazarath, this is not the case. He was Jesus the Nazarine, which was a militant group intent on bring forward the true king and disposing the Romans and the traitors to the throne. Developing a strong following was a must so he proceeded to travel about the country gathering followers and "doing great acts". I will not delve into these because this is a matter of faith and no matter what neither side is going to change their stance, let's just agree to disagree on the stories.

After agitating Rome, and high standing Jewish officials Jesus was crucified. This was a punishment only given to people that committed crimes against Rome! Not the whim of the mob or some Jewish officials, that in Rome's eyes were nothing but slaves. The stories about the crucifixion or the conspiracy theories behind it, which I'm more inclined to believe are not going to be brought up here. Once more this is a matter of faith and one cannot change a believer's views.

To me the individual titled Jesus Christ was the rightful heir to the Jewish throne and from his speeches a great man! He would have most likely unified the land and been a great leader that most likely would have brought about Rome's downfall. Man's need to have a God or other entity along with lies, need to cover up the truth, and power struggles have led to the greatest downfall of mankind and the most horrid of lies.

Once more this is my opinion and views. I do not intend to offend and if I did it was not on purpose. I respect the right for you to believe and if I'm wrong, I completely know the consequences. Hope you enjoyed this.

Good hub. I was raised Christian but lost a little faith over the years. I took a course on World religions a few months ago and hoped to relocate my faith and instead found a new interest in Buddhism. Most of the ideas (other than reincarnation) can be upheld by science if you follow the traditional teachings. I think the ideas can be metaphorical and can lead one to a good life. What are your thoughts on that? A new hub for you maybe : )

Thanks for the comment. I follow the religion of science, to me if there is any higher power it is the singularity. The big bang if you will. If there is a power in the universe it is the universe itself. Something that combines us all and will tear us all apart in a few hundred billion years during the great rip. I have studied all religions from the mesopotamians, egyptians, greeks, romans, buddist, tao, etc... They are all the same with the same stories and principalities. To me it is lead a moral life, remain above our animal insticts and use the brain that we were born with. My opinion of course. Hope all is well and have fun!

I'm not a christian or a religionist.  I don't like being given an "ist" or "ism"  A few years ago I read a book called The Nine Faces of Christ.  It was a novel and written by a guy who studied theology greatly. I was going thru a phase of meditation and inner work and this book was amazing in how it portrayed Jesus as a man like any other who went thru different trials and initiations to become enlightened.  So it covered different traditions and wasn't seen thru the christian tradition. It was such a good read.  Even if it's not true, (what is true) it made a hell of allot more sense than what is portrayed to be true.

Thanks for you testimony and work.

If Jesus was in line of the throne, was not Joseph in line before him, when he was a child?

Big bang theory. How can you get so much out of nothing? Big bang does not meet the 2nd law of thermodynamics.

One of the best books on found on Jesus Christ is by James Talmage called Jesus, The Christ. He goes through everything item in Christ and explains it all. It is so great. It can be found a Deseret Book.

Keep on Hubbing!

Thanks for the comment. Yes that would have included Joseph. It is up to personnal theories of why he never went for the prize. If Joseph of Arimethea was a relative maybe warned off. Maybe he didn't even care or was stoking the fires waiting. We do know he had the resources to travel, and warnings about events that could harm his family.

As for the big bang theory, you are still not checking on exactly how many different dimensions or if there wasn't a binary. Since the discovery of several binary black hole eating each other. The combination of the two could create a massive rupture. This is of course theory, but a lot better than a super dude creating this universe in a few days and only a few thousand years ago.

That was a book I've not gotten to yet. Be the list for next months reading.

Thanks again for swinging by and leaving great comments and information. Love a new read.

The Greek word used in the Bible for creation is also used for organizing. How about that everything already existing (i.e. no beginning and no ending) and God organized (not created) the matter into the things he needed.

Joseph could not go for the prize, it was under Roman rule, not Jewish rule.

Keep hubbing.

That is a solid theory as well. Our problem with most of the bible, talked to Sandra about this, is that it has been interpretted almost out of context. If not completely. Yeshua,-Joshua-Jesus. I would still enjoy some real information pertaining to Joseph of Arimetha and his connection to the family. The whole asking for the soma, living corpse to Pilate, greed of Pilate, private tomb on pvt. land. The traveling up to England, relationship to Perceval. All this makes for a great story that I wish could only be told. As it is now because of the Holy See's as well as other orthodoxies destruction of most documents pertaining to these events and causing the "dark ages". We may well never know.

As far as any supernatural occurances, to me if there is one it is the universe itself. The character Gaius Baltar in the last episode of BSG (reinvisioned series) explained it better than I can. "Whether we call it God, Gods, the unexplained mysteries, whatever...It is a force of nature. Neither good nor evil, for as men we created that. It does not pick a side, it just is. And we are all part of it whether we want to be or not." For some reason that is the most comforting thing of all. To be just a part of nature and not involved in a twisted fight between two super-beings struggling for the souls of mankind. I think the concept of something that could create a universe in a pig-sticking contest with a fallen angel just for our miserable souls somewhat egotistical on man's part. Because we cannot see the bigger picture and have to be in center stage, I believe that man created the image of god is his own eyes. Just like churches break away from another, people change religion and god's views to suit their own.

Anyway, thanks again. It's fun.

I totally agree with you on the being translated out of content. My aspect is that it is written by prophets. Where are the prophets today? I like to have the prophets intrepretation of the things. Plus in the old testiment, you had the Jews trying to remove every item about the prophecies of them killing their savior. They were practically ripping pages out of the Bible, in sense. And what was done with the new testament since the writings. Who knows. The finding of old records in the mideast over the last 30-40 years, and the translations of them are helping to peace some of the old writing together.

But, I have learned one thing. All the facts in the world cannot make one believe. It takes a mustard seed of faith to ask, and the spirit will nuture it and make it grows. We cannot prove God by facts, but by faith. And from experimenting with faith, one can have the faith grow within one's self. I use the examble of electricity to this. We cannot see electricity because it is the transferring of electrons at a molecular level. Lighting, we see the heat of the arcflash. We can see resulf of electricity, measure and use it. But we do not actually see it. We can experiment and use the spirit simularly.

Well I think I have said enough.

Keep on Hubbing.

Don't forget Constantine's pagan ways and the Council of Nicea. The Romans had to make the bible and the life of Jesus to their viewpoint. Couldn't have the Roman's killing of the son of god. Do what we always do blame the Jews. Since I'm of Roman, true Roman heritage I can say we...lol. Yes the Jews had much to do with the ending of Jesus. But Rome had a major portion in it. Or the looks of an execution. But that is another story.

Thanks for the comments, I really enjoy them.

Ande Theories are still theries and not facts. There are so many problems with these theories, yet people start taking theories to be truths, i.e. Darwan Theory and The Big Bang Theory. Here we think we know so much about the universe and we have everything figured out. 150 years ago scientist had us bleeding for medical purposes, and did not understand the functionality of many body parts. not much more than 500 years ago everyone thought the world to be flat. But now we believe we have all the answers. We are so smart. I like to see 100 years from now how stupid the modern scientist and people in general will look, as we find out more about the world. So I do not have to prove anything. The ones who follow the theories, are the ones who have to prove them, because theyare still only theories, but many are following them as factural. Yes Ande this is small world. I read other people hubs and comments people put on them.
