DIY Home Medical Test Devices
Health screenings are available from our local clinics, hospitals and doctors to request medical tests for various disorders. Are you aware of the home medical tests available?
The news has covered stories about a doctor’s misdiagnosis and the resulting treatments that people went to receive, for the ailment, only to discover it was a mistake. Anger from people affected by such medical errors is to be understood when we factor in body image, psychological impact and over all costs involved with seeking and receiving specialized treatment.
Do you remember hearing the line, ‘Get a second opinion?’ It can prove to be one of the most effective means of ensuring a correct course of action. Often, your doctor may suspect a certain medical disorder and send you off to another doctor more specialized, for further in-depth tests. We all want our doctor to offer his or her best service, after all.
A few home medical tests have been made available to the public. These are not for self diagnosing purposes but as tools to indicate or monitor our current state of health. They are simple medical home test kits that can be beneficial or risky to our health. It’s recommended to be used only with supervision and advice from medical professionals.
Today’s technology has allowed us the ability to perform medical self-tests at home for a variety of medical conditions. Home medical tests can perform the following tasks;
– Diagnosis, home pregnancy test
– Monitor, a health condition and indicate whether to adjust treatment accordingly (i.e., blood glucose)
– Screen, check for indications of health conditions in healthy person (i.e., cholesterol)
The home medical test kits have been made available to order by internet and mail. It’s best to remember these kits may be unreliable and faulty dependant upon the manufacturing process and following precise directions of the kit itself. We should always ask ourselves the following questions;
– Is this from a reputable company?
– Is it licensed?
– Is it legal?
– Is there a expiry date?

It's always advisable to have a second opinion when diagnosed with something and its so good that Technology has advanced to the point where we can carry out medical tests at home.
In UK, Diabetic people have a Kit that they use often to check the level of their blood sugar and take action on it.
Best Wishes.
