Home Schooling Advantages
63
Home schooling offers many advantages over other forms of education, mainly public and private schooling alternatives. Some of the main home schooling advantages are listed below in no particular order of preference.
Advanced Grades
Home schooled children are often way ahead in their grade work as compared with their peers in public and private schools. They learn to read much earlier and advance through their subjects much faster and in a more thorough manner. This is due to more individualized attention and subject-specific attention.
For example, when lessons are taught to home school students, they often only need to hear or read lessons one time. However, in classroom environments, subjects need covered in a variety of manners to accommodate the learning needs of those below average and average learners, often boring advanced students in the meantime with repetitious or too-easy-to-grasp learning.

Enhanced Learning & Skills
Students receive much more enhanced lessons like learning to cook meals at home, make clothes, set budgets and balance them, and much more. And instead of stopping because of holiday time or teacher conferences or Saint’s Days or anything under the sun…home school parents are free to actually hold their lessons more regularly if they want and plan interactive enhanced tutorials to go with them like tours and live interviews.
Some students can even get a step up on learning with internships and work-study programs incorporated into their home school lessons. For example, instead of paying for horseback riding lessons at a fancy private school, students could earn money taking care of the horses, cleaning stalls, etc. and also get discounted riding lessons or maybe participate in some sort of work / sweat for riding lessons exchange. In this manner, students are also introduced earlier to negotiating real life situations not found in regular high school environments.
College Prep
Home schooling also better prepares children for college. As a matter of fact, their advanced grades, interaction with more real-world learning and the environment - like knowing how to run their financial lives with real bank accounts and statement balancing that is not taught in public or private schools, helps prepare them for life after high school and helps them get accepted to universities and colleges – and with scholarships.
And once in college, home schooled students are more often better prepared to study and work on their own. While students from public and private schools often still need more introduction into self-learning during their beginning years at college, working harder and earning lower grades in the meantime.
