This is a quick introduction to home brew beer. There's a lot of reasons more and more people are trying out home brewing but here's a few obvious ones that come to mind.

Everyone (at least beer drinkers), is familiar with the micro beer brew craze that swept the country several years ago. It seemed that every day a new specialty brand of home brewed beer was popping up on the market. Brewing beer had become "chic". And it seemed like the smaller the brewery, the more prestige it had. Of course, the beer had to taste good too! After all, beer making combines art and science. The best beer brewing recipes don't mean anything if the home brewer doesn't have a "feel" for the brewing process. Unfortunately, the only way to develop the beer brewing "feel" is by taking the plunge and trying it for yourself.

You can get loads of helpful home beer brewing tips and tricks from a variety of sources such as books and various websites, but you won't develop that master brewing feel for the process until you make a few batches yourself. The good news is that today's beer brewing supplies and equipment take a lot of the mystery out of the process. Oh sure, the experts who have been into home brewing for a while will get a chuckle out of the "shortcuts" that technology has provided today's home beer brewer, but so what? Even the best home brew master had to start somewhere. And I guarantee you that EVERY home beer brewer has thrown out a batch or two. Just look at your mistakes as learning experiences, Most people have heard of the famous story about Thomas Edison being asked by a reporter if he had gotten frustrated at his hundreds of failed attempts at making the first light bulb. His famous answer was "Not at all. I didn't fail, I just learned 700 ways how not to make a light bulb". Approach your home brewing the same way and you'll soon be able to put yourself into the master brewer category. You'll also be the envy of your beer drinking friends when you pull out your latest batch of home brew and get asked "What kind of beer is this? It's really good!"

Now, with that as a brief introduction, do you want to learn more about making your own home brewed beer? What it costs? How long it takes? How much can you legally make at home (yes, the feds regulate your home brewing the same as they regulate the wine makers).

You can sign up for a mini-course on home brewing right here (your name and email will never be given out, ever). Every couple of days, you'll receive a new lesson in your email. At the end of the course, you'll be ready to start that first batch of home brew! The mini-course is designed to be an introduction only. It will give you a taste (pun intended) for the overall brewing process from beginning to end. From there, you can move on to more advanced home brew topics. But as the saying goes "You gotta start somewhere".
