Start with the size of the projection screen. It's understandable that you'll want something to cover the entire wall, but the quality of the outcome will depend mainly on the features of your projector. So know the projector first!

What kind of fabric of the home cinema projection screen also matters. It matters a lot, actually, because the right choice can give you better overall sound! There are primarily four kinds of home cinema projection screens you can choose from. Matte white is an affordable option, but it won't let you enjoy excellent images. Silver screens are better, but they tend to have a few problems projecting darker colors. Glass bead screens are great, but they can sometimes project overly bright images. Factors to Consider When Setting Up a Home Cinema Projection Screen

Projector Type - How does it project images? What are its features and functions, and will it able to match your choice of screen? Image brightness is a very important factor when it comes to projectors; does it produce overly bright pictures or is the brightness level ideal?

Room Type - Exactly how large is your home theater? Will people in the back still be able to watch comfortably if you use a smaller size for projecting images? Are all the seats placed in the center? People sitting on the sides might have a hard time watching when a projector's screen is used.

Lighting - What's the level of lighting inside your home theater? Do you use a dimmer to control the lighting in the room? It's also best that lights in your cinema have separate controls so you can switch one on while others remain off just to see if you still have popcorn in your holder. Also, do your curtains or drapes do a great job in preventing light to stream inside from your windows?

Placement - Lastly, consider the placement. The positioning of your projector, seats, and sound equipment will definitely affect the audio visual outcome of your screen. Make sure everything's strategically located so as not to put your screen investment to waste.
