Homemade Recipes
Because rats can eat just about anything and everything that we, humans can, it's fun to create interesting recipes that are both healthy and yummy for your pet rat(s).
You can even put a twist by adding this or that, and making the recipe yummy to your tastes. For example, add a little salsa to the Low fat burritos, and you have yourself a nice low fat lunch or dinner that you can share with your rat(s). Maybe try a chocolate sauce instead of butterscotch, and share some Rattie Rolls with you favorite rat(s).
In any case and situation. Making homemade recipes for you pets can be enjoyable for you and them...

Rattie Rolls

- all-purpose flour as needed
Directions:
- Mash the banana, and mix with butterscotch syrup.
- Sprinkle with wheat germ and mix.
- Keep adding wheat germ until the mixture is semi-firm.
- Sprinkle some flour on waxed paper and shape the dough into the shape of a Tootsie Roll.
- Sprinkle with more flour and cut the roll into slices, using flour to keep them from sticking together.
Wrap any left over "cookies" in waxed paper and refrigerate them for up to four days, or freeze them.

Hey, that is a cute picture! My rat's birthday is coming up, and I think I'm going to make him the Rat-A-Tail! It looks great! Thanks for helping me!
i am going to make the rattie rolles for my rats birthday party!!!
Is that a picture of your rat? They make the best pets. Rats have so much more personality than other rodents. Cute Hub. :)
Thats sounds great, I also have some recipe ideas. I live in an area where it gets really hot in the summer and even though my rats have the luxury of living in an air conditioned house they still get hot. I make them frozen treat that they love. I freeze their food the night before and the next day they have a lovely frozen treat that is tasty and healthy and helps keep them cool.
In their food dish I mixed some of their favorite fruite (banana, watermelen and a small peach) with some watered down vitamen water and froze it. Also I mashed banana and watermelen together and froze that for them. Also a fun treat and toy fot then I froze a small ping pong ball sized peach tied to a string in a small bag of water, when its done I tie the string up in their cage and they have a blast playing with it and eating it too!!!
Jasmine that recipe sounds yummy. I'm sure a lot of rats will enjoy it.
