Cucumber-Mint Dressing
1/3 cup peeled, seeded and chopped cucumber
1/4 cup nonfat plain yogurt
1/4 cup prepared mango chutney
2 tablespoons olive oil, preferably extra-virgin
1/4 cup fresh mint
1 tablespoon curry powder
In
a blender or food processor, puree cucumbers, chutney, yogurt, and oil.
Add mint and curry powder and pulse to blend. Transfer to a bowl and
season with salt and pepper.
Basil Homemade Salad Dressing Vinagrette
3 tablespoons olive oil, preferably extra -virgin
2 tablespoons red-wine vinaigrette
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons grainy mustard
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh basil
In a bowl, whisk oil, vinegars, lemon juice, mustard, garlic, sugar, salt and pepper. Whisk in basil.
For an Asian inspired recipe try this delicious homemade salad dressing, even though it´s not quick it´s taste is worth the time:
Lemongrass Dressing
3/4 cup distilled white vinegar
3 tablespoons of sugar
4 stalks of lemongrass, roughly chopped
2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
2 tablespoons fish sauce
2 tablespoons vegetables oil
1 tablespoon dark sesame oil
1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
- In a small saucepan, combine vinegar, sugar, lemongrass, ginger, and 1/2 cup of water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to maintain a gentle simmer and cook, covered for one hour.
- Remove from the heat and strain the liquid into a small bowl, discarding the solids. Return the liquid to the saucepan and boil over high heat until reduced to 1/3 cup, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in orange juice, fish sauce, vegetable oil, sesame oil and soy sauce. Set aside to cool.
Homemade salad dressing, YUM!
(Any of these dressings can be used for "bajar peso rapido" or loosing weight.
