There are many products out there that promise to whiten your teeth, but they often cost a pretty penny.

Here is a very inexpensive homemade recipe comparable to all the whiteners on the market. And is not the same as those gels on the market this has only 2 ingredients which you know and are at hand in every home. It gets your teeth & gums nice and clean. I do it once every couple weeks. A great way to remove wine, tea, coffee, & tarter stains.

Our teeth are very important part of our body, so keep them healthy is necessary for us. Homemade recipes will brighten your teeth and gums healthy. Tooth whitening involves a bleaching or polishing process that reduces the discoloration of the enamel and dentin caused due to smoking, aging, consumption of tea, coffee and drinks like colas. Tooth whitening is also known as tooth bleaching. These homemade recipes can remove plaque, keep you gums healthy and contro tartar.

Everyone wants a glamorous movie-star smile, and by today's standards, the whiter your teeth, the better. Of course, we all can't afford multiple visits to the dentist and stains do come back, making it a recurring problem. Even with proper care, your teeth can be stained by coffee, soda, tea, medicines, and smoking. The residue of food seeps into the fine cracks of your teeth, making it nearly impossible to brush out. Whitening toothpastes only bleach out minor discolorations.

If you like coffee, tea, wine, etc., you most likely realize that enjoying the great taste of these selective beverages comes at an expense: teeth discoloring. And teeth color that's not up to par can affect your ego as well as give others initial false impressions about you as a person. So you've decided that it's time to take charge and bring some brightness to your smile, but you just can't afford to start a teeth whitening regimen. Well you're in luck! With the application of a few simple ingredients, you can start having the look of a "Hollywood Smile" without having a Hollywood salary. And it only takes a few pennies and a small amount of time to achieve those sought after results.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 3-5 drops hydrogen peroxide, 3%
  • 1 or 2 drops mint mouth wash

Directions

1. Mix to make a paste, apply to toothbrush and brush teeth.

How long is it supposed to take before results are noticeable?

Yes, how long are you supposed to leave it on, and how many times do you have to do this before max whitening can be acheived and there after, how many times a week/month should you reapply to maintain the results?

I would say this is safe... my dad has done this for years and years. Baking Soda you can cook with so totally safe there, hydrogen peroxide, you can put it on your skin to clean so I would say yes, and It's not like you swallow it.

It will be interesting to see if this actually works :)

Its good that you've written a free article about it. I've taken the plunge and invested in a home whitening kit myself and will document the process on my website to see if it works or not.

The link can be found by clicking on my name...

I just tried this and I can't seem to get the ingredients to form a paste? Its still more of a powder? Any suggestions?

I think the key ingredient is the baking soda since it's what causes the other ingredients to react with each other...
