About Motive Interactive

First of all, this is not a paid sponsored review and solely reflects my personal opinions about Motive Interactive Network and their Advent affiliate marketing system. So, I will write all the pros and cons according to my 5 months of affiliate marketing experience with them.

There are several important factors effecting the choice of an affiliate marketing network to work with for a long time. These are Trust, Payments Schedule, Range of Offers, Communication with Affiliate Manager, Advanced Reporting, Ads Management. Let's look closely to each factor for Motive Interactive Advent System

Advent System Main Page

Trust Factor Evaluation

Motive Interactive will not change or cut your click statistics to scrub your earnings. Their reports screen correctly reflects this. Why am I telling you this? It is essential for affiliate marketing success. Listen! First of all, I use an advanced click tracking system for the offers, named as OpenX ad server. Using this tool, I can target the ads let's say showing only to US visitors and exactly know how many clicks I am getting. I had bad experience with some other networks clearly eating my clicks from US visitors and not showing in their reports. Motive Interactive will not hide the clicks, so you can evaluate your CTR and conversion rate correctly. This will enable you to decide going on with an offer more or stop the loss. If you know that let's say a payday loan offer is converting at %4 and you are far than doing this, it is time for the stop.

Payment Schedule

Until now, I have earned around $500 starting from March 2009. Actually I could earn more but I had paused offers until I would be paid. I got one time payment of $165 to my PayPal account and waiting for the remaining earnings to reach $500 again for next payment according to my agreement with them.

Here is my story : Motive Interactive has a standard check payment model and normally will not send money to your PayPal account. Since we have problems with checks in Turkey and banks charge high rates, I didn't want to use checks and contacted my affiliate manager. The reply was really late and didn't resolve to any agreement at first. After waiting around 1 month, I got an email from their payments department that they want to send me money and requested my information. I have requested again to be paid by PayPal when I every time reach to $500 threshold. Anyway, they paid my first month of earning $165 surprisingly to PayPal after a week of this conversation. I will update this post after I get my next payment. I am sure that Motive Interactive pays all the affiliates eventually, the problem is that they couldn't provide a regular schedule with me, unfortunately still and this discourages me give more attention and promotion to their offers using PPC for example.

I got paid but since I had to write several emails and didn't get a clear payment policy result, I have to give a low score for this.

Latest Update : I got all the remaining payments as well to my paypal account. Late but good :) Because of this, I will increase their score from previous 4 mark to 7

Range of Offers

There are plenty of offers in a wide range including usual content categories like Dating, Finance, Auto, Gifts, Entertainment etc. and special behaviour categories like Inventivized, Email Submits, Zip Submits, Surveys, International Traffic, Simple Form Submits, CPA Wall etc.

You can find the offers easily using several search parameters. These include Offer Types (CPA, CPL, CPS, CPS%), Distribution (Banner, Email, Web Search, Pop, Text Links etc), Offer Name Search and Payout Amount ranging less than $1 to more than $25.

You will be auto-emailed when an offer is being deactivated usually in next 24 hours. It is a nice feature to prevent sending visitors to dead campaigns and change them on time.

My suggestion is using their dating offers targeting US traffic. They are regularly convert at good rates if you can provide enough traffic.

Communication with Affiliate Manager

Since typical affiliate networks have thousands of registered people with them, it is usual that affiliate managers will give most attention to super affililiates who make lots of money and naturally giving them big commissions. Communication between affiliates and affiliate manager is a matter of balance and a few affiliate networks can provide an excellent mechanism. As an affiliate, I want my vital questions to be replied on time, for sure. My affiliate manager provided my CTR, eCPM data when I have asked and resolved my several issues about reporting screens. These are positive. But, I didn't get a reply for long time about regular payments to my PayPal account. This made me think that I was simply being ignored. This is the negative. Overall I can give a honest average rate.

Advanced Reporting

Motive Interactive Advent Reporting System works nicely and gives all the information we need including SubIDs, Impressions, Clicks, Conversions, Conv%, eCPC, eCPM, Total Revenue for each offer and/or for all offers. It is possible to filter the earnings according to predefined dates like Month, Last Month, Week, Day or using a custom date. There is excel export support if you prefer to analyze statistics in Excel seperately. It would be nice to have a chart support as well.

Easy to use detailed reporting section. Nothing to critisize about this.

Ads Management

Publishing ads is easy with the editor. There is no need to download the images seperately. SubID support is nice to know where our leads are coming. It is clearly defined what kind of traffic and distribution method we can use for each offer. One missing thing is that the live average eCPM score for each offer. Affiliate manager surely provides this info when asked. Motive Interactive made another category where HOT offers are listed to compensate this. In theory, these offers should bring more earnings, but we can't never be sure since we don't know about eCPM rate. I think the offer creative page also has a problem with Firefox browsers since the iFramed area for banners are not easy to navigate and we can't see the banners easily.

Motive Interactive Lifetime Referral Commission Program

Motive Interactive enables affiliate marketers also earning lifetime 2% commissions from every new affiliate they bring to the network. What does it mean? Let's say, the person who registered Motive Interactive system makes $10,000 yearly. It means that you will get 200$ yearly just by doing nothing. Honestly, I don't have any referrals yet in the system. Maybe, the reason is that Motive Interactive is very selective about the acceptance of new referrals to the system. I would be happy if you join under my link.

Great post man! Can't use your link to join, I already did.

Just one question: is there a fee, when you receive money via PayPal and live outside US? If you have earned $1000, how much do you get in your PayPal account? I hope it's cheaper than checks and wire.

Thanks for the comment :) Yes, there is a fee on Paypal payments. Mine is around $5 for each transaction. So, in your case, you should get $995. But, be sure that they will send the money to your paypal account on the limits you defined. Better to arrange this with your affiliate manager.

Okay! $5 for getting a load of money is not so bad. It could be much worse like $35 for wiring a ClickBank payment.

So, finally you would withdraw $995 to your bank account, right? At least I understand from PayPal's not so clear webpages... I wonder when will companies (both PayPal and Motive) start to write webpages that actually tell you what you want to know! :)

Yeah, you don't want to get $165-$5 + $335-$5 if you could just get $500-$5 :)

Have you tried the prepaid MasterCard of PayPal's? Does "mine is $5" mean that it could be different for others?

Where are you? I'm in Finland.

Hei, I live in Moscow but originally from Istanbul, Turkey. Paypal supports direct withdrawal of money to a bank account in Turkey without commissions for transactions which are larger than $500 in sum. Another option is to send PayPal money to your credit card account, but this is with commissions typically $5. I think they support all European countries including Finland for direct bank transfer. Overall, PayPal is the easiest and best choice in make money online business. I extensively use it.

The money which was cut from Motive money transfer is PayPal's commission.

By the way, I suggest joining Hubpages if you didn't so far. By writing articles regularly and embedding your Adsense and Amazon codes, you can earn significant amount of money here. Use my following link to join please :))
