The hood decal was made popular starting in 1978 with the Pontiac Trans Am. This 2nd generation model Trans Am had a giant Firebird hood decal and was featured in the television show Smokey and the Bandit. Since the 1970's hood decals have evolved into an auto enthusiast's statement. Today you can find custom hood decals for in all shapes and sizes to customize your car, truck or specialty vehicle.

Pre-Made Hood Decal

The original Trans Am utilized a single color hood decal. In a single color hood decal a single sheet of vinyl is cut to allow the color of the car to show through the cut out. The color of the vinyl hood decal on this Trans Am is gold. There are many pre-made patters, pictures and designs to choose between if you are looking to add a hood decal to your ride.

Custom Hood Decal

If you do not like the pattern of any of the pre made hood decals you can choose to creae your own. If you create your own hood decal you can custom mold the size and shape to fit the lines of your vehicle perfect. An enthusiast now can also choose a custom color hood decal to compliment the paint on their car or the color of other modifications.
