Hoodia Exposed - Does Hoodia Gordonii Really Work For Fat Loss?!

I'm sure you've seen the adverts for Hoodia, the new fat loss miracle. And if you are anxious to get fat loss going, you've likely looked into the diet supplement, Hoodia. Hoodia gordonii is a plant that was used in South Africa & Namibia many years ago by hunters-gatherers called Khoi San, who would need to go for long periods of time in the desert and wild African bush without food. It comes from a spiny succulent plant with the appearance of a cactus, which grows very slowly in the harsh, dry, arid conditions and needs to be harvested for four to five years before it's ready.

But how well does Hoodia really work for fat loss? Many people turn to Hoodia thinking it is the answer to all their prayers. Never hungry? Full of life and bursting with energy? Sounds like a dieters dream! After all, following an eating plan or diet would be easy if you never had any feelings of hunger or fatigue, wouldn't it?

The Khoi San were the first people to actually use Hoodia as a stimulant and hunger suppressant.

I'm actually from South Africa and have met the lovely Khoi San people, incorrectly referred to as the “Bushmen”. Hoodia Appetite Suppressant – What does it contain?

Hoodia contains a particular active ingredient; a group of glycosides better known as P57; which according to some studies tricks the brain into thinking the stomach is full. It’s important to remember that stimulants and appetite suppressants are not healthy; they are an unhealthy short-cut that can often become addictive and harmful.

Once you start relying on these, there is a pressure to keep taking them to stay slim. Your body is designed in a special way, and you will not lose more body fat long-term by punishing your digestive system, nervous system and metabolism with short-term quick fixes. What you need is to understand and control your body’s, natural hunger cycles. Hunger is not your enemy; it's just that we give it the wrong things at the wrong times, in the wrong amounts.

Hoodia Gordonii – the Miracle Fat Loss Cure? Unfortunately, it isn't that simple.

If you are a trying to get a lean, toned body, not eating is the last thing you should be doing. Doing this might seem to be working in the short term, but it cannot work in the long term! Sure, you will need to eat less in order to lose body fat, but if you aren't eating enough, you will actually just lose muscle rather than body fat. You will also starve your body of the healthy nutrition it actually needs.

Hoodia Gordonii - Don't slow your metabolism!

Since muscle tissue is your calorie burning “machine”, destroying it would be counterproductive to getting the results you want. Stimulants can actually slow your metabolism drastically in the long term.

And who wants a slower metabolism at the end of the day? That'll just make further fat loss next to impossible.

Hoodia tablets and powder work by suppressing you natural hunger indicators and if hoodia is affecting your natural hunger signals, it will be hard to get in the nutritious foods that you do actually need - the foods that will work with your body to lose the body fat while still keeping muscle tissue intact.

You must understand that Hoodia is not a thoroughly tested product and cannot be deemed safe yet. If you take enough of it, it can actually damage your metabolism, causing a variety of thyroid issues that will be stuck with you into the future. While fat loss and getting abs is important, you must do it a healthy way so that you don't do anything disrupting to your health.

Hoodia diet pills are they sustainable?

Hoodia diet pills are by no means a proper method to losing abdominal fat. In order to lose abdominal fat, you're going to have to find a method that will be sustainable over the long term. If you think that you're just going to skip eating for the years to come, you are very mistaken. You will not get the proper nutrients you need to sustain your body, so using Hoodia as a means to help you maintain fat loss could very well put you in the hospital with severe malnutrition in extreme cases.

What you need is a diet that supplies all the nutrients you need, while still being effective with stomach fat loss. Then, you'll also need to make sure this diet is something you can sustainably work into your lifestyle, so that your muscle tone isn’t going to be just covered up by more body fat again once you move off the diet.

The more time you waste chasing after gimmicky supplements that only hurt you in the long run, the longer you will spend without the results you are after.

Why take an untested, unproven appetite suppressant and metabolism booster, just because it is from a funky country with a sexy image? Better to control your appetite and eating by eating correctly. There are certain food types that will naturally boost your metabolism if eaten at the correct times!

Personally, I would not gamble with my health – I mean yes, maybe there are extreme short term gains in terms of fat loss, but is it healthy fat loss and is it sustainable? And what about the long term damage you may be doing to you nervous system, metabolism and digestive system, that you may not have any warning about until later in life?

Common short term side effects are apparently hyper tension, dehydration, nervousness and mood swings.


God's Must Be Crazy

The Main Isue - Hoodia cannot change your unhealthy lifestyle to a healthy one

The main issue is that by using Hoodia, you are in no way forced to change you lifestyle. So guess what, if you continue to eat the wrong foods, in the wrong way, at the wrong time of day, don't get enough sleep and smoke and drink a lot, the chances are the fat loss success will not last anyway. Do you really want that? Why put your heart at risk with an extreme exotic drug (face it that's what it is)?

Furthermore, it's estimated that ¾ of the Hoodia supplemts being sold on the open market are not even pure ingredients and largely counterfeit. How do you know if you're not just buying a product with lots of filler and caffeine? You don't!

Hoodia gordonii is an unproven weight loss drug, so if you really have to choose a fat blocker, metabolism booster and appetite suppressant, choose one that's been around for a while, that's proven itself and had good reports.  But much better to get a healthy fat loss programme that works consistently and sustainably.
