You should probably invest in a riding jacket if you are going to attend formal equestrian events like horse shows. The jacket should fit in such a way that you can still move freely. There are jackets that are for dressage, show jumping, and showing. They are compulsory for competitions. If you wish, you can buy jackets if you are just casual riding as well.

When purchasing jodhpurs and breeches, you need to make sure that they are closely fitted, but should be comfortable and not restrictive. You can find them in a variety of colors and fabrics to match your style. They are best suited for equestrian activities.

You also need to make sure that you have some good riding boots. There are field boots, hunt boots, dressage boots, and paddock boots. Each type of boot has its own characteristics and has adopted some aspects of the traditional riding boot.

You're right -- equestrian riding apparel is an essential component of riding. Not only does it make the rider look and feel good in and out of the ring, but it provides a great level of safety and support as well, especially with properly fitted riding helmets.

Great hub on the equipment needed. But how about doing one on actually putting the saddle and stuff on the horse. I can't find one and that is something I would like to learn.

Why is alot of things only on english what about the true western rodeo events why dont we eva get any of the credit because each time we go out there we out our lives basically on the line, im not saying thow that english isnt tough cause i ride it also but there is never any thing about like the western gear ect. but overall good article
