Hospital of Horrors
64I know that this is a sensitive topic. It's come up in my Democratic Christianity hub. (http://hubpages.com/hub/Democratic-Christianity) I know that people have very strong opinions on this. But I cannot wrap my mind around what I read today on CNN (http://tinyurl.com/dndvnd). I do not understand how this type of evil exists and people will look at it as if it may be ok.
In this article, apparently a woman was 23 weeks pregnant and decided to get an abortion, but the doctor was late and something went wrong and she went into labor. She delivered a baby. Let me repeat that. She delivered a baby. Not a fetus, not an organism, but a baby. A living, breathing baby.
Well, according to this article, guess what the medical people did - you know, the ones who are in the field that is supposed to "Do No Harm"? One of the people cut the imbilical cord to this living, breathing baby and put the living, breathing baby - along with the placenta and afterbirth - into a biohazard bag and threw all of it into a trash can.
I am not even sure how to put my thoughts into words on how horrific this sounds. I have a hard enough time wrapping my brain around abortion - I truly believe that life begins at conception, I feel this with all my heart - but this crosses a line I can't even imagine that we as a civilized society would stand for. It's infanticide, pure and simple.
And according to the CNN report, so far all that has happened is that the doctor has lost his license. Now, some may wonder why he would have anything happen to him because he was not there. He apparently falsified some records and committed other acts of malpractice and for that he is losing his license.
What about the murdering of this living, breathing baby? Well, this apparently happened in 2006 and at this point, criminal charges have not been filed yet as there is an ongoing investigation still. Do we need 3 years to determine that this was a murder? What is the delay?
I am so saddened by this. I am just perplexed that this could happen in this country and that justice for this little baby (the living and breathing one that was thrown away like trash) is moving so slowly. When in our country did behavior like this by rational, civilized, professional people seem ok or if not ok, at least ok enough to make others hesitate to enact any type of discipline upon them?
This may sound corny, but my heart is so very heavy at the thought of what this precious life went through in this Hospital of Horrors during her brief time on this Earth. And while vengeance is not mine to give, there is a very human part of me that hopes the evil in these supposed caretakers is dealt with in a way that will make the next group of people reconsider before partaking in such a horrific act.

I like your comments more than most others BDazzler because even through my frustration, you always seem to find a shining light (through Christ). You remind me to strive to be better myself when I am bothered and let my human tendencies shine. Thank you.
You're welcome. :) I have a lot of respect for you SoDak ... you have integrity and heart!
It gives me goosebumps when I hear about something like that. I just don't see how someone could be so heartless! And he just lost his license? That is insane. Even if the lady was still pregnant, got into a car accident, in which both her and the baby died, the other person would be charged with two deaths!!! It is just so crazy!
It's very upsetting Someday, I agree. I hope that these stories do not become the norm. I fear that they might though.
I hadn't heard about this story before reading your hub, although I've seen the documentation of the practice of leaving infants unattended in hospital storage closets and such to die so that it isn't an actual "murder".
There really aren't words to describe, although you seem to have done very well. As much as I would love to see justice in my time, I do have to remind myself that the ultimate judgement: that of God's, will reign down heavier than anything man could do to him. This baby is sitting at the feet of Jesus today, which gives me something to cling to.
As mankind seems to find more and more ways to "push the envelope" to commit crimes without technically commiting crimes, I'm afraid to say I agree with you that these things may become closer to the norm.
Thank you for writing it and bringing this horrible story to my attention!
SoDakDoogie - I feel ill! I really do that this terrible thing could and did happen to such a tiny defenceless little mite - even if one did agree with abortion where are the laws that say after a certain number of months termination CANNOT occur indeed MUST NOT occur...I had a miscarriage at 24 weeks and my baby died, she moved her little arms and legs and then died - I was heartbroken - but to do this knowlingly and willingly makes my blood boil....Thanks for the telling of this appalling story ...cheers
btw he was de licensed on a paperwork problem not a deliberate killing problem and where is the mother in all of this?
Thanks for the comments Proud Mom...you and BDazzler hit upon the truth that it really is all in God's hands...
ajcor, I am very sorry to hear about your miscarriage, that is very sad. For me, one of the things that is so sad about abortion, is that there are so many women such as yourself that have gone through what you have that would most likely be willing to do anything to adopt one of these babies.
As far as the mother, from what I gatherd about the mother in the article - and the one that ran on FoxNews as well is that she is suing the hospital for the trauma she has gone through. There is a part of me that does feel for her as well, because from what I understand, there are many women who have their eyes opened to the trauma behind abortion but only after they have had one themselves. And so I think that she may have been completely shocked by the trauma of the attempt to abort the baby and then the horror of the baby being disposed of in such a callous manner. I'm not sure how I feel about her suing the hospital though, I would have to know her myself to form any type of opinion as to whether her feelings are genuine.
Thank you for your kind comment; plus you take a much kinder and fairer view which makes me pleased i scrubbed my first comment! you are right though re. her possible lack of understanding she may have had prior to having the abortion which combined with the fact that possibly she didn't understand the implications of having one either before undergoing one quite possibly put her beind the 8 ball - such a terrible op. but the "disposal" of a human being in such a way is also totally unbelievable. Suing doesn't really answer any questions but may help put it all behind her...although how can you sue someone for something you asked for, knowing that the baby was already moving inside you and that you could viablly give birth in a few weeks time with a fair chance of the baby's survival....just some food for thought
Several years ago a woman came to my church who was so eaten up with guilt she couldn't look people in the eye or say the word "abortion" ... Jesus Heals and Forgives ... Here's her testimony:

The thief comes but to steal kill and destroy. Many are under the influence of Satan and don't even know it. Jesus came to give life, and give life more abundantly.
I appreciate your writing this hub. This is something I had never heard about until now. I wrote a hub myself on abortion, but only to try and help those who had one to heal, or help those who are thinking about it. I denied many comments, some which were trying to raise a fuss, but others which weren't that bad but were detrimental to healing.

I read the same news story on one of the news sites. It was completely horrific and I totally agree with you. The sad fact is that life has become utterly devalued in this country.
Hi all, thank you for the comments and the articles. I read through them and they are very thought provoking. SirDent, I didn't realize Partial Birth Abortions were practiced, I thought they'd been made illegal and the video you had on your hub was very illuminating, how sad it is to see that. BDazzler, the article on that lady who is struggling with the aftermath of her abortion was inspiring. Thank you for sharing (all of you!)
Acor, I deleted your last comment, but only because there was nothing in it, it was blank! :)
sorry about that - I thought that the hub gremlins had hit again because i couldn't see my second comment. I rewrote it and then saw it had come through after all - so I deleted my words. ...cheers
I just went across to the "partial abortion hub" at Sir Dent's and they kill babies with scissors in the head! Well in your story the outcome was the same- baby died - but at least this baby didn't get the scissors in the head treatment...how could this be allowed in this day and age!
I was the president of my FHA club in high school, and I played a video for a group of students that nowadays would get me in trouble. It's called "The Silent Scream". You can find it on youtube. Unfortuneately, I don't know how to get that link here, or even if SoDakDoogie would want it, but you can search it. Anyway, it's the video shot inside the womb during an abortion. You can actually see and hear the baby screaming. It's very powerful. Because of the graphic content, you have to sign in with a youtube account to watch the whole thing. It's very powerful.
I've seen that video, I can't watch it.

That's the video link if anyone is interested in watching.
Thank you, SirDent!
I just finished watching it. I don't know what to say. Thank you for pointing it out, it's something that should be watched.
I will hav e to come back to this later - can,t make myself watch it just yet... but thanks for the link...
this is too much how it could be....this kind of situation is not allowed....she should know before doing anything that can cause a pregnancy and if she is not in wish to have baby then i dont think so that we can blame doctor ya...he is guilty in this case but i think that woman is in big fault...god must punish such kind of vampires...

Unfortunately, this is the logical extension of the "fetus isn't human" mindset. If I thought this were up to conservative culture to fix, I'd dispair. But, Jesus is King, and what is impossible with men, is routine with God.
