I wrote a hub about petticoats, and men wearing petticoats, but you know what I didn't have? Any pictures of men wearing petticoats. That left a gap in authenticity in my hub, after all, if I claim that men sometimes wear petticoats, but offer no pictures, how do you know that I am telling the truth, after all, the Second Law of the Internet clearly states: Pics or it didn't happen.

We have the lovely Cyndie to thank for these pictures of a man looking rather fine in his petticoats and lovely floral dress. There is definitely a touch of the 1950's about them I think you'll agree, a certain innocent quality which is missing from the brazen fashions which women are encouraged to wear today. If I didn't know better, I would even say that there is a touch of the infamous Mrs Thatcher in these pictures, except Cyndie is more feminine and entirely less bent on crushing the world under the weight of an iron handbag.

If you're chap looking for petticoats, there are a wide range of resources available online dedicated entirely to petticoats. As it turns out, petticoats are something of a popular item among men who like to wear women's clothing, no doubt for the reasons I mentioned earlier. They are feminine, but not trashy, they also provide the appearance of a rather feminine waist even if the male wearer happens to be straight up and down under the flounces and frills.

Petticoats can be worn under dresses to provided added lift, flounce and indeed, if frontier women were to be believed, modesty. They can also be worn by themselves simply for the sheer enjoyment of it. If you are of the mind to purchase a petticoat for yourself, keep in mind that petticoats come in a wide range of styles, and in some locations, the term 'petticoat' may actually refer to what is more commonly known in other areas to be a 'slip'.

When purchasing a petticoat online (which is probably one of the better places to buy a petticoat, if you can consider the Internet a location,) one has the choice of a variety of independent stores which make petticoats just for men, or purchasing one from a vintage store, or a dance store. Dancers are probably the last women on the planet over the age of eight who would willingly be seen in public wearing a frilly petticoat. (Sarah Jessica Parker could be one notable exception.)
