You can find cheap rates in Key West if you shop around and are willing to visit Key West during the off season like in March or April when you can find great hotel rates in Key West and the rest of the Florida Keys. And three places that I can highly recommend are the Southernmost Hotel located at 1319 Duval Street , the Southwinds Motel 1321 Simonton Street Key West, and the Blue Marlin Motel at 1320 Simonton Street in Key West. All three are ideally located and you won't find a better hotel on Key West at these rates on Key West.

Key West can be a very expensive place to visit but you know it doesn't have to be. Key West has some wonderful beaches that you can enjoy with out paying out one dime. A really interesting thing you can do is go snorkeling right off the beach in Key West and see some of the most beautiful under water scenery you will ever see on earth. You can rent snorkel gear from the local dive shops if you need to.

You can rent a bicycle or scooter for a day and explore the island on your own and find all kinds of exciting and interesting things. Explore the streets and do all the people watching you want for free.

Visit Mallory Square for the sunset celebration and there's no telling what you may see. Everything from house cats putting on lion acts to dog acts , magicians , dancing harem girls and much much more. Every night they have a party to celebrate sunset. In the busier seasons of the year go early take a blanket and stake out a great free spot near the water front.

Be sure to visit Ernest Hemingway's Home and see the six toe cats. You can watch them feed the cats every evening. And the tour of the Hemingway Home is one of the most interesting things you can do in Key West.

If you can schedule your Key West trip in March or April. If your driving down you can really plan your trip and really save on your hotel rates. Plan to get your hotel room on Big Pine Key and you will find much cheaper hotel rates than you would find further south in Key West. Be sure that you check out the Big Pine Keys Motel located there just off US 1 which is also called the Overseas Highway. They have very reasonable rates and they have a great restaurant also. Show your Motel Key for a extra discount at the restaurant and be sure to try the big pancakes.

The sunsets and sunrises any where in the Florida Keys are really special but I really love the sunsets in Big Pine Key. There is just so much you can do up and down the Florida Keys. Be sure that you take a camera. You may get lucky and be able to take photos of Key Deer , Sea Birds and if you like to fish you want to be sure to have your camera along so you can take pictures of your fish to show back home to make your friends jealous.

Fishing At Big Pine Key

The fishing in and around Big Pine Key is the best in the world and you will find many companies offering great half day and full day fishing trips out of Big Pine Key and some of them can even help you to get discount hotel rates so be sure to ask them about that. There is excellent inshore and off shore fishing around Big Pine Key. And believe me you've never seen fishing like the quality of fishing at and around Big Pine Key.

And if you really need a cheap vacation consider camping at the great campgrounds you will find up and down the Florida Keys. But if you are able to plan your trip for March or April the weather will be warm to hot and you should be able to find great hotel rates.
