Diamond Ratings

AAA's Diamond Rating system is a premium rating service that gives you America's top hotels . If you would like to find a hotel or a motel to get you through the night or to plan that perfect family trip, the Diamond Ratings give you an ideal way to get foresite of the location before you go there or waste your money.

This is simply a ratings system that is in place like any other rating system, however this one gives you AAA 's seal of approval. Many people have asked me about Diamond Ratings in my time at a few different advice sites and I must say that the rating systems are really not all the same. You will see many different sites on the net that can claim to do the same thing including some of the more well known hotel sites. I personally have experienced the difference between these services and I have found that there are more bad reviews out there than you would think. Self promotion from seedier hotels trying to attract business without actually trying to improve their service.

My most memorable experience was with the hotels around disneyland. I used a well known hotel online referral service and I nearly had a terrible experience. After finding out from a relative of mine that was visiting the theme park a week previous to my own trip I was told that the hotel that came so highly rated by this site that sold me the booking (which turned out to be non-refundable) was frequented by loud teenagers and late night partiers. I ate the cost of the reservations and used the AAA Diamond Rating search to find a Hyatt Regency that was the equal price of my mispent reservations at the first hotel and was rated 4 stars which was quite true to the actual hotel and saved our trip from any unpleasantness.
