Hotels And Real Estate Investment : The Latest Scam Technique
77Here is the latest in Nigerian scam techniques. Now they have gone the hotels and real estate way. This morning I received what I think is the latest technique being used by the 419 scammers. The following is the initial mail I received from someone named Kevin Brantford.
From: kevin_bre17@hotmail.com
Subject: Enquiry / Hotel or Real Estate?
Date: Mon, 11 Oct 2007 14:44:21 -0400
Goodday ,

Estate in your country. I am sorry if this is not in line with your
business.I need an experienced person like you to assist me to set up ,

but will be bringing in profit /distribute profit monthly or annually.
However ,I got your email information on your Hotel contact list.
your immediate reply will be highly appreciated and I shall give you more
information on this project,
Mr Kevin Brentford
Although I was sure it is some sort of 419 scam, I just want to check what this guy's next step before reporting it to the scambusters.
So I sent a reply with just one line, "Sure. I am interested. Send me details"

This was more than enough to convince me to take the steps I needed to take in the first instance. You can see that he could not even spell his name right. So if ever you receive mails like this please do not hesitate to report them. No doubt other names will be used in the mail using this theme and other mail ids will be used to send them to you. I decided to publish this hub just to let you know if you are not aware of this already.
Best Regards

Thank you very much and I suggest establishing a website to announce the names of such persons
I received it too, I decided to follow this guy game. Now he is telling me that some one, a diplomat, will come to my country with 2 trunks full of money us$175 M. He send me a passport image and called me.
In this kind of transactions they look for money like feees for transfering the money, to pay for embarks, things like that.
I stood hard in the point that I was willing to participate under the condition that I was able to use my time but in no case to put money, not a penny, I said. This did not disuade him, on the contrary he proceeded with emails to tell me he would pay everything.
My conclusion is simple: Their English is defective, when they dear to call you, an african accent and their natural tendency to impatience denounces them.
I am not a man who segregates others by race, religion or national origin, se orientation but are those guys stupid?.
Yes, some of them are truly stupid! Unfortunately they are giving their countries a bad name. Pls note that not all these scam mails emanate from Nigerians alone. Some are of other African nations but everyone believes they are Nigerians because they are well known for it. Secondly, while not holding brief for anyone, a great majority of Nigerians are hard working and honest people who work hard for their income. One bad apple spoils a whole bunch...remember? Unfortunately there are quite a number of bad apples involved in 419 scams...pity.
I got the similar email but from another mail id. Her name is Miss Coxy Williams <coxyyywilliams@yahoo.com> . The following is the email I received from her:Goodday , I am looking for your co-operation in building a Tourist Hotel or Real Estate in your country. I am sorry if this is not in line with yourbusiness.I need an experienced person like you to assist me to set up develop the project and assume responsibility of ownership as chairman but will bebringing in profit /distribute profit monthly or annually. However your immediate reply will be highly appreciated and I shall give you more information on this project.
RegardMiss Coxy WilliamsI published this hub in order to share as SunSeven mentioned above. Thanks,
I see these scams alot in my inbox SunSeven, I just wonder why most of them give the impression that they are dying! I once went as far as ringing one who claimed he was living in Northern London. He Claimed he was some Mr. Smith and an Englishman-but when I rang him, the accent I was getting through to my ears was that of pure heavy Nigerian Accent and I knew this was pure scam!
It's nice to know I'm not the only one getting scam-spam! Things like this should serve to remind us that the Internet is a powerful tool for spammers, but it can also be a powerful tool to educate yourself against scams, fraud and the like.
Scams...! There are plenty of them taking rounds in the internet world. Crooks who want to make money the easy way have given birth to a lot of scams. I see atleast one much mail on a daily basis.
Thanks for the information.
Very Informative!
You are not just pretty but also have talent
very informative hub, thanks
SunSeven, thanks for helping us avoid being scammed! I hadn't known about the Hotels and real estate angle.
Scammers and spammers are everywhere. If you detect something fishy. Just stay away. I hate those kind of people who take advantages on non internet-savvy people.
