How A Public County Divorce Records Search Works
64Public Divorce Records - Finding Divorce Records Online
It's probably hard to imagine why anyone would want to look up divorce records, but for those who have a burning need to know, there is a way for doing just that. I know there is no end of endless interest in celebrity divorce records, and I'm sure there someone's job to nothing but endlessly check the divorce filings particularly in the state of California. Especially Hollywood, California. The records are often stored in a number of different government juristictions, including state and local government repositories. Divorce records are considered public information, and anyone is entitled acces to them.
Given that divorce records are legal documents, they must contain quite a cornacopia of information. Age, dates, names, and even specifics about the actual wedding ceremony may be included in the divorce documentation. Obviously, there is other important information to be found, such as assets involved, and any children the couple may have had while married. Reasons and arguments for the divorce can also be found.
Yes, it's true that the information contained with divorce documents, and divorce proceedings is public record. But, that doesn't mean the government is going to make it easy for you to get your hands on. There are of course forms to be filled out, questions to be answered, emails to be sent, T's to be crossed, and I's to be dotted. This is serious stuff ya know. Actually, it's not to tough, you just need to have a talk with the friendly folks down at city hall, and see what they have to say.
Or, if your scared of city hall, you can always do what everyone does these days, and do it on the internet. There are websites specifically set up, either by your local government or private concerns to help in these matters. The trick can be, to find a reliable site to provide the information. Your local city hall, or state website should be a good one. But, if they don't currently offer those services, then you'll have to resort to a private services site. They're likely to be more expensive than the government sites, but often times can be more effecient as well.
Given that your already online (obviously, since your reading this), it makes since to do your divorce records searching there. Just Google around a bit, and I'm sure you'll find what your looking for. FYI, most Google searches are Geo-Sensitive. Meaning that if your searching for divorce records in the city of New York, Google will likely show you results from websites in your immediate area. Just something to look out for.

Divorce record is as important as your birth certificate and/or a license. With the vastness of Internet, it's almost possible to get your divorce records by few clicks away. However, many of these websites require you to register first.
You can check the local libraries in your city or town, or you may ask the local registrar's office for the divorce records. What's good about obtaining document from this source is that you'll get the actual hard copy, unlike the printed form from the Internet.
