I think this will help clarify your question.
When a web site owner purchases ad packages, he/she is qualified to be paid rebates for viewing other web sites. The rebates are paid from ad purchase sales of the Cash Generator, the sale of banner ads on the Cash Generator, sale of ebooks and any other products that ASD decides to market.
Rebate Distribution
Ad purchases and funds from other sales will be totaled at midnight each night and 50% of the gross sales will be rebated to ad purchasers.
Every night at midnight the number of eligible ad packages will be totaled and divided into the total ad package sales and other income sources to determine the amount of the rebate for each ad package. That amount will be multiplied by the number of ad packages in each advertiser's account and the total will be credited to his/her cash balance account. Rebates will show up in your account after midnight CST.
To maintain the stability of the program the daily rebate will be capped at 8%. Any excess will go into a reserve account to be used when rebates are extremely low. Five percent of ad sales, banner sales and ebook sales on the Cash Generator will be placed in the reserve account to be used for the same purpose.
Eleven percent of ad sales, banner sales and ebook sales will be used for advertising, hosting, site maintenance, administrative costs, customer support and profit.
* Five percent will be used for contests and raffles.

You are absolutely right. Many of it's members are currently making over a $1000 a day and they accomplished that in relatively short period of time.

Understand ASD has several other businesses that are a part of the re-distribution process. If what you are saying were true the company would not have the success that is receiving.
There are other companies that have a get paid to surf system, but they do not have a percentage of profits tied into the re-distribution process nor do they share any other holdings with the members.
No one is getting robbed of anything. Everyone buys advertising in a system designed to return you back your advertising costs plus a profit. Who is getting robbed?
Fyi, ASD has a legal councel that anyone can contact should they have any legal questions. Also, at the recent Miami convention there was a member of the Attorney General's office that said they were leaving their job soon and anxious in joining ASD.

Other sources are software, merchant accounts, they have currently brought on over 400 corporations that are paying ASD for their advertising and these 400 corporations in the network do NOT get paid ANY rebate. They pay ASD based on the "Cost Per Action" agreements they sign, which meansthat every time the advertiser's ad form gets filled out,they must pay revenue to ASD. Also, and soon will include ad revenue from China.
ASD is an advertising company. It sells advertising.
It's NOT an investment vehicle at all... and should not be treated as such.
The mistake some people make in looking at this opportunity is that they somehow get confused and start assuming this thing is a Bank CD or some form of "safe investment", which it is absolutely NOT.
Nothing is guaranteed, there is no absolute certainty.
I like to suggest to others that if the information we have on ASD is NOT enough to make people comfortable with to get involved then DO NOT JOIN. Period.
This is a volatile, UNCERTAIN industry. That is why the rewards are so huge sometimes, because they come with HUGE risk attached. Some people have figured out how to manage and mitigate those risks (just like any otherniche industry out there) but most have not.

Thanks again for your informative article. I don't believe you are an employee of ASD. In a community like ours, it is much appreciated to share any information that can be helpful.
I truly believe in thoughtful action when making any kind of decision. It appears in a lot of the cyncism amongst some skeptics commenting on your article and others I have seen stem from the notion that ones Ad purchase will be used to pay other members cash rebates. That is what some of the Q&A seem to imply.
And as a result, they feel it is not legimate.
My take on it (and believe me, I am just a regular guy.) is that several factors anyone who considers this business must reconcile with:
1. What is the value exchange between ASD and its participant?
Do you want visitors to your website? What's it worth to you? What other options do you have to drive traffic to your website? Can you afford it? Can you count on it? Just a few questions to ponder....
ASD assures you that you will have a one for one hit where someone will potentially view your site for at least 15 seconds or more for each credit you either earn for surfing other member sites or received in payment for your AD package.
Like Jon said, this is a business opportunity and as all businesses, it comes with its own set of risk and rewards.
2. How does any business afford to pay for increase in sales volume (in this case, AD sales).
I believe most companies would not be able to pay their employees their salaries or their salespersons their commissions were it not for the a continuos stream of cashflow from the sale of good or services. Something from nothing means disaster. ASD income comes from AD purchases (and the optional monthly membership fees) and as its active membership base increases additional sources of funds potentially may develop from businesses who want to tap in to that base.
3. Compare to other advertising venues such as business cards, flyers, newspapers, magazines, billboards, radio, TV and PR firms, what's the "normal" percentage of activity and potential sales/dollar.
Advertising is big business. However, whether you make a one time outlay to promote something or have a dedicated budget to expose your product or service and establish your name. There is no exact science to how to be effective in getting results out of your advertising expenditures.
Hence the appeal to ASD, because once you take the cost factor out of the equation there is less concern if your AD does not pull as you hope.
4. This is cutting edge so only time will tell the resevoir of value to serve those who want to participate in making money on the world wide web.
I think their is plenty of pent-up demand for an opportunity like ASD to open doors to a whole new reality that many people have never figure out how to embrace. Like the Gold rush days it will be filled with adventure and yes risks.

Ponzi scams DO pay their early members (usually outrageous amounts), so Ponzi scams will have great testimonials. The link you provided is one mans opinion. There is nothing said about the SEC looking into this. I am not aware of any SEC or legal suits being filed except for ASD pursuing those that are blatantly slandering.

I really appreciate all of the comments here. I have been doing my due diligence on ASD. At the same time I have purchased ad packages from ASD and have been enjoying surfing and looking at many websites that I find very interesting. In my opionion, money spent on ad packages is money well spent. I have opened up several websites as I have been surfing because they peaked my interest. My opinion is that advertising through ASD can be a very effective way of advertising and driving traffic to your website. An added bonus is to be paid to view other's websites. The one thing I do know, is that I haven’t seen such explosive passion (on all sides — plus and minus -- on various forums and blogs) about a single “program” in a long, long time. It’ll be very interesting to see how this whole thing pans out.
I have to say, objectively, that with this alleged “award” that was given to ASD’s president, in actuality, was NOT what ASD’s website and its membership constituency would have you believe it was.
There are statements floating out there saying that ASD’s president was singled out and invited personally by George Bush and Dick Cheney to the White House to receive a “medal of distinction” for his esteemed contributions to business. To substantiate this, the ASD website posts no official press releases (with contact information) nor any press clippings (local or regional) regarding this.
When I contacted the White Office Press Office, a Mark Sayers, with special events said that no such award was given directly by the White House, nor was there any related information on ASD nor its head.
On June 17th, the Business Advisory Council (under the umbrella of the NRCC) hosted a meet and greet reception at the Hyatt Regency, in Washington, where numerous individuals were given a medal and certificate for their monetary contributions in support of the Republican Party, and later given a photo op with Republican members of Congress, in attendance. The following night, there was a dinner honoring George Bush (his official farewell event with the NRCC) whereby participants from the previous night’s event were invited to attend; and more photo ops ensued.
These events were sponsored by the NRCC and NOT sanctioned by the White House. It behooves ASD and its followers to be careful what information they’re putting out there (it's the EXACT same "cut-and-paste" statement that came off the ASD website); white lies and half-truths can come back and take a bite out of their derrieres.

The above complaint is NOT a warrant for an arrest, a seizure of assets, or anything of the sort. It is a COMPLAINT filed by the US Attorneys office. This complaint has to be answered and I'm sure the ASD attorneys are working around the clock to get it completed. I try to follow the words, "Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see". Let's get all the facts straight before we pass judgement on anyone. And as far as we can see or tell, Andy Bowdoin is trying to change people's lives and for that he should be commended. Let's wait to get more facts before we listen or believe those people who like to hear themselves talk. These people are like the guy in the diner, who knows something about everything. They are called "Wind Bags". Do you know anyone like that? Well, we do and we also pay NO attention to their conversation because it's usually hot air. Let's not listen to the guy in the diner today or any day for that matter.
As I understand it, the complaint here in Florida has to do with the website having been down for a number of days due to them redoing the website because of high traffic. Some individuals who bought into ASD and probably couldn't afford to lose the small amount they put up, panicked and complained. Here in Florida, if the Attorney General gets too many complaints about a company they will shut it down to investigate the validity. Doesn't always mean a crime was committed. Fraud is rampant in Florida, so it's an immediate reaction on the part of many if things don't move the way they think they should. Some issues have to do with having some of it's assets and ASD banking offshore, which gets it additional scrutiny. Time will tell the truth, as it always does.

When will people learn you can't pay out 3% a day in interest period. I resisted constant pressure from a close friend to join ASD because common sense should tell a person it's going to fail. What is amazing is so many people bought into this after the 12Daily mess.
In a few months there will be another "ligit" paid to surf program and it will probably hit the top 20,000 sites on the net too.
