When you first got a pet bunny you dreamed of having a sweet, snuggly little creature that would play with you and cuddle up with you. Now you have an angry little ball of fluff that refuses to come out of its cage and might even bite you sometimes. What do you do? Do you just have a bad bunny?

No. There are things you can do to make your bunny more friendly. Here are three easy things you can do to make your bunny more friendly.

• Move Bunny Indoors

Bunnies that live indoors are much friendlier than rabbits that are stuck in cages outside, because they see you all the time, and there are more chances to play with them. Bunnies are very easily house broken, all you need to do is figure out where your bunny wants to toilet, and put a litter tray there. It is usually either its cage, which is convenient, or a corner of the room that is the bunny's choice, so to be safe, putting litter trays in all the corners of the room is a good idea. Once your bunny is an indoor bunny, you can let it out to run and play by itself. It might not be completely friendly at first, but bunnies sometimes take a while to get used to people, so don't worry if your bunny still runs away from you, just being inside will help make it more friendly in time.

• Get Down With Your Bunny

Rabbits are small ground dwelling animals. To them, even a child looks large and scary. If you are having no luck at all being able to touch your bunny, try laying down on the floor when they are out of their cage. Chances are that they will get curious and eventually hop over to sniff you and see what you are doing. Don't try to grab the bunny when it does this, just let it sniff. This builds trust between you and the bunny, as the bunny learns that it can be close to you without bad things happening.

• Relax, Take Your Time

Bunnies can take a long time to be friendly, sometimes months, but it is worth the patience and the wait. Most bunnies are suckers for gentle head rubs, so gently rubbing the top of your rabbit's head with your fingers is sure to be a treat that your bunny will want again and again. Many bunny owners report that even standoffish unfriendly bunnies soon start to run up and demand their head rubs when they want them!
