How Can You Make Your Life Beautiful?
92Do you want to make your life beautiful? The simplest question seems to be the most difficult to answer. But the most difficult questions have the simplest answers. Here are five things that I would like to share on how you can make your life beautiful.
You can make your life beautiful by taking great delight in discovering the wonder of each moment.
Little kids teach me best the lesson on delight, wonder and amazement. Toppling building blocks and making funny noises like ‘boink or toink’ can send them into fit of giggles.
I’ve learned to appreciate our deep conversations too.
“I have a new sandals.” One three year old girl would pull the sleeves of my blouse.
“My shoes is blue.” Another boy would pipe up.
“Wow!” I’d say stopping long enough to look at their shoes. I’d get to observe little stuff so I can continue the conversation. “I see a flower in your sandals. Did your mommny buy this for you?” or “There are lights in your rubber shoes. Wow! Can you walk so I can see the lights blink?”
Very deep huh? Hahaha If one is still able to truly say ‘wow’ on a flower on a tiny sandal or be amused at rubber shoes with blinking lights, I bet you would be able to say ‘wow’ on most things in life.
You can make your life beautiful by enjoying the simple things.
Munching peanuts or gobbling up pepperoni pizza and mojos with a dear friend is already something that I enjoy. Homemade sandwiches with fresh juice somehow taste better in between shared conversations. I had to chuckle at myself. I find that eating and conversations is on my top 5 of simple things that I enjoy in life.
What are the inexpensive and simple things you enjoy the most? Do them over and over and you will find that there are many ordinary things that make life beautiful.
You can make your life beautiful by putting a full stop in the past and allowing yourself to move forward.
Stop! Halt! Decide right here and right now to stop rewinding and replaying the painful memories of the past. You have grieved. You know people have been cruel and yes life is unfair. But if you want to live a beautiful life, it is time to resolve to let go and forgive. It is time to write a new chapter. Your past will not define your future unless you allow it to. Give yourself a chance to move forward.

You can make your life beautiful by seeing the blessing in every situation.
When I was still a college student, a typhoon hit our city badly and for a month we didn’t have any water and electricity. When it rained, we hurriedly brought outside the few pails we owned to store the rain water. I remember that incident vividly because mom allowed us to take a shower in the rain. She would never ever give us permission to do that in ordinary circumstances. But this was a crisis situation.
During the first week of our predicament, we found out that one of our neighbors had a manual pump for water. We also saw some people lining up bringing a pail or two. Maybe they can share water with us, we thought. But sadly they declined.
The refusal hurt. The water was after all free. After that, I remember we scoured the city looking for ways to buy drinking water. The month passed slowly. But when the situation was back to normal my father decided to install our own manual pump. It was not part of the budget but we saved up for it. My father felt we should be prepared for emergencies in case of another water shortage.
Many years later, who would have thought that this helped us start off with our water refilling business? It made me reflect, "if we didn't experience the typhoon...if our neighbors didn't refuse us water...if we didn't install a manual pump..." You get the drift.
This taught me a lesson to trust that the most difficult of situations in our lives can bring forth untold blessings.
“I trust that everything happens for a reason, even when we're not wise enough to see it.”-- Oprah Winfrey
You can make your life beautiful by sharing with others the joy of living.
"Accept your own divinity. Everything is a manifestation of God. When you know that, the power that is LIFE is inside you, you accept your own divinity, and yet you are humble, because you see the same divinity in everyone else." - Don Miguel Ruiz
I have made a decision to give to myself so I can give to others more. I stopped beating myself up. I affirmed myself often. The more loving and forgiving I am of myself, the more loving and forgiving I am of others.
I also allow myself to receive when someone gives me something (may it be a kind word or two, a compliment or praise, an encouraging statement, donations or gifts or acts of services) because as I delight in the gift, I also allow others to experience the joy of giving.
Life has become beautiful because I have experienced the pains of living and have moved on. I have walked through the valleys of darkness into the light. This light I openly share with you as I lovingly accept the light that you share with me. Isn’t it just marvelous how we engage in the cycle of giving and receiving? It is all in your hands. It feels immensely gratifying when one is able to share, inspire, and uplift someone else up. Right?
Life is doubly beautiful when it is shared. Do the things you love with enjoyment and gratitude and most certainly life will be beautiful for you.

Michelle: This gave me chills. I just told Dottie in my last hub that I am moving forward, and here you are saying the same thing. The story of your dad developing a water refiling business is inspiring!
A thumbs up, of course. :)
You amaze me with your continous positive attitude toward life, ripplemaker!
Great stuff! As I'm sure you know, when you share the love with others, there's no telling what amount of fruit can be produced from that...and that can turn up even more beautiful lives.
I do have to say , I love this hub and such positivity what lessons we need to know and should use for happiness. :)
Beautifully and simply stated. Thanks RM
I love your positive attitude it really shows through in everything you do. You also help me to look at the positives especially when I am at my worse. Thank you.
"It feels immensely gratifying when one is able to share, inspire, and uplift someone else up. Right? "
Right!!Thank you for bringing the light and sharing the positive atmosphere and attitude with us!
Great hub! While I do agree with you on the need to put the past where it belongs and to maintain a childlike wonder at the simplest of things, what I most enjoyed in your hub were the cats. They were priceless! :)
The cats in here are so adorable, very cute :)
And, I bet you thoroughly enjoyed writing and shareing this with us, Didn't you.
Hi fishskinfreak, it's lovely to see you here. And your thumbs up is very much appreciated! :-)
Hi violetsun, I believe being able to have the courage to move on forward (even in little things) is already something big. And it is meant to be celebrated. When I look back at my life, I recognized there are so many moments of problems turning into blessings. The water refilling business is definitely one of them. :-)
Hi Laughing Mom, it's lovely to see you here. :-) Thanks for your kind words.
Hi dave, it's the ripple effect..so true... :-)
Hi AEvans, I wish you much joy..:-)
Hi John Z, in simplicity lies the profound. I'm beginning to acknowledge that more and more... ;-)
Hi Triplet Mom, I try to...sometimes it can be tough...but when one is able to look at the bright side, I can dry my tears and smile... thanks for being here. :-)
Hi newlyborn, glad you agree with me. :-) Keep on...
Hi wandereth and shamelaboush, I was laughing while loading the photos. Yes they are priceless. :-) For sure, I know Hubber Susan Ng would love them, she's a cat lover through and through! LOL
Hi Hawkesdream, I did... how did you know? LOL
Thanks guys..you really made my day reading all your beautiful comments. Thank you!
I love this hub. it is truly humbling and a great lesson to me as well as a reminder that life is wonderful, and we should cherish every moment! I also enjoyed your butterfly effect moment about the water shortage and where it eventually lead to. In every downside there is always an upside, we just need to find it. Another take really on "if one door closes another opens". Wonderful profound hub!
Hi sixtyorso, you are right about the door closing and another opening. Today I am taking this time to remember how beautiful life is. And I'm glad to be doing it with you around too. To our beautiful life, cheers! :-)
Ah, a very huble topic but yet controversial. Like the way you set your mind towards tomorrows... And very true and inspiring
What can I say but the overwhelming feeling of being inspired. Thanks. I also love those cats. :)
awesome hub. was a great read. nicely done.
puuuurrrrfect hub! love the photos, and captions too!
I love those deep conversations you have with your kids! That is so precious and soo important to make a child feel special. Geez I wish I had a teacher like you when I was little! :)
It really is the simplest of things like this that makes a beautiful life. I enjoy sharing these things with you, Sis and I have to tell you I too LOVE those cats, LOL!
Woohooo! I love it....I just love your enthusiasm for life - and your eagerness to share that love with the rest of the world. THANK YOU!
Hi M.A.D..LOL I guess there are many sides to a story and esp. a topic on how to make life beautiful. To make a beautiful tomorrow, start making today a beautiful one. :-) Thanks...
Hi Raven, me too...to be the giver and receiver. :-) The cats are just adorable. :-)
Hi Benz B, thanks.
Hi kstyle, meow... hahahaha
Hi sis Dottie, yes the conversations can go very deep...Hahaha The "what's that?" and the "what's this?" have always helped me keep the wonder of simple things around me. I love the way their eyes would go wide when they see the water turn into another color when you drop food coloring and giggle. I know you know the feeling since you taught with some kids too. :-)
The cats reflect the funny side of me when I'm not so serious. Hahahah
Hi Jmell, thank you for being as enthusiastic. Your comment made me smile! :) Woohoo!

I am always awed at how you are able to tell beautiful stories of simple yet profound experiences in your life. That is the magic of your writing. Never doubt your capacity to tell your stories. It is precisely that which creates multiple ripples. Hugs and thumbs up!

Hi Russ: Living in awareness..yes, that seems to be one of the keys to a beautiful life. Thanks for the visit. :D
I love your comments about putting the past behind you! I also, however, have a specail affinity for tursting that everything that happened in the past, happens for a reason. I wrote the hub, The Already and The Not Yet because of soemthing amzing that has happened in my own life. I love your advice - thank you!
Thank You I am grateful to have come across this Happy inspiring hub!
Blessings
Elusen: I agree with you that all the things in the past happened for a reason. By being grateful will help one move forward. Thanks for sharing about your hub. I will visit it soon. :)
DeBorrah: Blessings be upon you too! Thanks for dropping by. :)
I just joined and published my first Hub. I was interested in seeing just one other Hub and chose yours to read because of the title line. It is beautifully inspiring and goes hand in hand with the thought-lines I shared in my first published Hub. I had to learn what I shared from painful losses 5 years ago, and that brought me to writing a book which was published and released almost a year ago. Thank you for the wonderful mirror of my own revelation. You've shown me that I was 'right-on' with my new vision.
U Dont Say: Congratulations for your book! And I will visit your hub now as I thank you for sharing your lessons with us. Moving on from a loss can indeed be a life changing experience and truly a beautiful one. Keep on! :) Blessings...
i was just thinking of writing a hub titled You Can Do Things the Happy Way. somehow, it is related to this hub. we really do not need to complicate things to make life happy or beautiful. it is very true that the simplest things can make us happy. :-) but most of us sometimes fail to realize.
Bingskee: That sounds like a beautiful hub coming to life, go for it! :) I agree that simplest things can make us happy. Like yesterday, Dayzeebee and I were laughing and laughing at something I said and my cells were jumping for joy. We should have more of that. We get healthier each day. Love and blessings to you. :)
Hy ripplemaker
