How Do I Know That I Am Who I Am? I Don't! It's Just A Superstition!
47And Just Who Do You Think You Are Anyway?
We really think we're something. We think we're somebody. We're either star athletes, or glamorous movie stars, or the world's most important movers and shakers. Of course, we can also feel very important by deciding we are the world's biggest, smelliest, ugliest turd. In that case, we're very important too. We have the distinction of single handedly stinking up the universe!
But now, come back, don't go running off so fast! Remember Lewis Carroll and his Alice in Wonderland? Remember the biggest hotshot in Wonderland, the Queen of Hearts? She went around making everyone shake and quake, shouting, "Off with his head! Off with his head!" Everyone was terrified of her, except Alice, who brought this fairytale to an end by telling the Queen, the King and all of their subjects, "You're all nothing but a pack of cards!"
If you think you are somebody and you think you know who you are, I make this suggestion: don't just look at your face, but turn your head around and study the pattern on your back. On the back, (again, one of Lewis' observations) everybody looks alike. We're cut from the same material, all part of the same deck.
Please have a good day and watch out not to tear your cardboard!
