How to Cure Bad Breath

Let’s face it – tooth infection can cause plenty of problems and one of them is bad breath. It is possible to have a root canal problem for instance without noticing any bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes this type of tooth problems can create a very foul taste and odor. Believe me – the bad breath caused by tooth infection or root canal can be very stubborn.

You can floss and brush your teeth three times a day after every meal, you can use mouthwash and fresh mints, but when having a root canal infection none of these attempts will be successful.

See, when you have an infected root canal it means the dental pulp on the inside of your tooth has abscessed or "died." The pulp is the soft tissue found beneath the hard outer tooth structure known as dental enamel. This dental pulp tissue is very important when you are young since it actually forms the hard outer tooth structures.

However once the tooth completes its development the pulp has no vital function in maintaining the tooth.

If the pulp remains inside the tooth sooner or later it will cause an infection in the bone that surrounds the tooth. This happens over time without you having any swelling or pain.

Once the bone around your tooth is infected it will look for a way to relieve the pressure that builds up as the infection develops. As a matter of fact it’s your body’s response to the infection – it tries to eliminate it to keep you from further hurting.

The infection that I am talking about can move through the bone. As a result a small hole forms in the overlying gum tissue. This way the infection has built a path of drainage. The ultimate goal as I said earlier is to keep your tooth from hurting.

As a result you have an infection in the jaw. It is being fed by a bad tooth. The draining pus produces a foul odor that gives you bad breath.

The only way to get rid of bad breath caused by tooth infection is to seek dentist’s help.
