First of all you shouldn't be asking "how to get your girl back"; instead you should be asking what you can do to improve yourself so that your girlfriend comes back to you. This is the mistake too many guys make all too often. They walk around whining about how much they want to get their girl back, instead of just living a happy life and letting the girl see for herself what she's missing out on.

A lot of girls will be reluctant to stand by you when you're still developing yourself in your early years. However sad this might be you shouldn't want to be with such girls in the first place. Becoming successful will attract more women to you in the first place, and when you begin attracting all of these different women to you your ex-girlfriend will see this and she may become jealous.
