Send Healing to A world of Pain
I found his website. http://www.reiki.org/faq/WhatIsReiki.html It has a very interesting proponent that they call The Global Reiki Healing Network. This is a beautiful concept, where you can commit to sending daily healing energy to areas of conflict and disaster. One has to wonder- if we all did that- would it make a palpable difference in our world? I am still optimistic enough to believe it would. So go to this site, and send your healing, positive energy where it needs to go.
For
those of you new to Reiki, there was a good description of Reiki at that same website. It is pretty much the same feeling I
have always gotten when I have had Reiki done on me. If you have not
tried Reiki, you should. If you already do it, maybe it is
time to become a practitioner for others. Here is the quote.
"A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows
through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body,
emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include
relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have
reported miraculous results" ( like me, for instance.)

Traditional Medicines Miss What Reiki Has- But What is It?
When I read this story about Reiki healing, I got chills. I recommend that you read it as well.
http://www.reiki.org/ReikiStories/ReikiStories.html#HealsHearing
According to the story, a woman was having Reiki done for her backache. Neither the healer nor the patient was looking for anything but a bit of relief for her backache. The healer did not even know that the woman was clinically deaf in one ear. But she emerged from the session with her hearing intact. There are many such amazing stories at the site, and they open up the conversation...
Why and how how does Reiki work? What does it do to us physiologically, and what does it do psychologically? This is a good question for all alternative medicines. What does traditional medicine miss, that alternative medicine uses with great success?
Comment on this question to get a dialogue going. I would very much like to hear your expertise as well as your personal experiences.
I also invite you to read some of my other writings on other
subjects. Here is an excerpt from my newest article on my hub, “On Heaven,
Hell, and The Law of Attraction Energy.” I hope you can read it.
www.hubpages.com/hub/Law-Of-Attraction-Energy
"Let us consider that Jesus’ point was not that we become Christians, then get the prize- which is the Kingdom of Heaven. After all there was no such thing as Christianity at the time, so how could he be discussing that. So instead let us suppose that the point Jesus was making was that we become Christ-like. The point was that we follow the light of God within us, as taught by Jesus. (And coincidentally as also taught by Ghandi, Buddha, Martin Luther King Jr., and many other great spiritual leaders.) Let us suppose that when we become Christ-like, regardless of our religion, we have found eternal life. Because being Christ-like, in its highest sense, encompasses our light, and our love, and all that is good and beautiful. And GOD is the life/light/love force in the universe. So he, and we, are eternal."
Using Reiki to Bring Healing to A World of Pain
I am not an expert in Reiki, so I consider this blog to be an ‘exploration’ of the subject more than anything else. Of course I have experienced Reiki several times. And I have said to myself “This is great stuff. I want to know more, and even learn it myself.” And this Reiki thing caught my attention because there was something sort of other-worldly about it. A supernatural, holy kind of element.
I first experienced Reiki in a women’s group that I attended to help with the effects of living with an addicted person. I was dealing with the present when some past trauma was triggered in my mind. If you’ve ever heard of Post Traumatic Stress, you may have an idea of what I mean.
So I was in the circle and suddenly the room began to close in and I was six years again. There was no air in the room and my breath began coming in gasps. My chest was caving in, I had no idea of the present, and I was sure, like I had been at six years old, that I was going to die.
I was deep in this black fog, when I felt two hands on me. One hand was placed carefully on my chest and the other on my back. I felt a warmth- a strong, loving, spreading warmth that soon encompassed my whole body. With the warmth, there also came a peace that was palpable. Soon I was back in this world, the panic and fear all gone. I later learned that the hands came from something they called a ‘Reiki Master’ who was in our group.
I don’t think a word was spoken. If it was, I didn’t hear it. Because whatever had happened transcended any words. I might even say it transcended this concrete world we know of altogether.
When I got time to reflect I remember thinking that this was
one of the most powerful things I’d ever felt, and everyone should know about
it and everyone should learn how do it.
Later in life I realized my path was to be an educator instead of a healer. I was on a path to educate people about what I call “Second Hand Addiction, or the sickness you get from loving addicted people. (Please feel free to visit my primary blog at www.secondhandaddiction.blogspot.com ) Though I used the powerful tool of Reiki, I never learned how to do it.
But I write this blog to perk your interest because perhaps your path is to be a healer and use Reiki to heal yourself, and then others. If so, don’t wait any longer. There is a whole world of unresolved pain out there for you to heal using your soon-to-be miraculous hands.
And if you’re a person who already heals using Reiki, please respond to this article and tell us more about it.
Why and How Does Reiki Work Anyway?
Here's what I would say about Reiki... It's new-age, it's wacky, it doesn't work. And a lot of silly, gullible people spend their hard earned dollars on it in vain.
That's a popular type of thinking about Reiki and alternative medicine in general. And it's pretty appealing to the logical, scientific brains of our time. Except for one dilemma...Reiki does work and millions of people could say from personal experience that this is true.
And yet, we are in the Age of Reason here, folks. We are in the Age of Scientific Experimentation. Now let's be logical. You can't see Reiki. You can't hear it. It has no medicine. It has no drugs. There is no cutting or surgery in Reiki. We can't even do a scientific experiment on it because we can't even pin down what it is. Simply said, Reiki cannot work... And so it doesn't.
And this is a good argument except for that little nagging point... Reiki does work.
Let's look at Reiki a bit here to see if we can figure this out. In a Reiki session you lay your hands on someone and use your life energy to help someone else's life energy to flow. Now that's just downright crazy. Anyone would say it, right. Now Reiki originated in Japan a long time ago. This is all the more reason to be skeptical. I mean no-one knew anything about medicine back then. So how could there be any validity to this stuff at all?
Ok all of you scientists, let's talk turkey. It now appears that science itself is coming up with an answer to the question 'How does Reiki work?' These scientists from the pioneer field of high-energy physics are throwing about terms like "subatomic matter', 'unpolarized' and 'vortex theory.' As we hear all of this we get a strong feeling that there may be some kind of energy flowing in the human body. And that in fact this energy may be the very basis of life. But it is way too small for our meager instruments to detect. As we ponder this we have to question, so now who is living in the middle ages of medicine?
As we learn about all of this, we hear that though we can't see this energy, we can certainly feel it. Practitioners feel it as a tingling, warm, pins and needles kind of feeling. The person being practiced on feels it as a spreading warmth, or even cold, in the area that is being worked on.
Now let's take a better look at who has been using this Reiki stuff. If we really put our minds to it, we may be surprised at what we find out. For instance, do you remember the old biblical 'laying on of hands?' I hate to say it, but that does sound an awful lot like Reiki. So maybe, when we look back to our past as a race, we can see that people in the days of old were not as dopey as we once thought. They had some kind of intrinsic knowledge, for instance, that if something works- don't question, don't ask why or how- just use it. I wonder sometimes if we can't use a slice of their common-sense, old fashioned though it is to the Age of Reason advocates.
