The Humbling Experience of Raising Children

I have enjoyed by children.  With two of my four children now graduated from high school, and moving on with their lifes, I have been humbled.   After having two fine boys to raise and enjoying the experiences of that, I find I will miss the experiences.  I still have two sweet daughters to raise, and look forward for the next few years doing this.

I have to say, one of the biggest ways God humbles us is to give us a sweet little baby child to fall love and raise.  Then on the day that the child moves on in live after high school graduation is very humbling.  You look and ask where have all of the years gone.  Yes, there are many fond memories.  Yes, you are happy for them with all of the great experiences they have in front of them.  It is just you have to swallow the pride that you miss them, and let the move on.

When my first son went to college, it left the other son at home, which allowed more time to get closer to the second son.  Now, with my second son moving on, now I get to associate more time with the two daughters, and be able develop an even closer relationship with them.  I am looking forward to this, but with a longing of the days the whole family was home.

Excellent. having no daughters, i would think they would be the hardest to raise. i know for me, my wife says if we did they'd be locked in the house til they were 30. Children make life worth living. Who can't picture a family gathering not made better by the presence of the little ones. I unlike most my friends look forward to becoming a grandparent, I think it would be great. Good luck to you and all of yours.
