How Golf Training Aids Can Improve Your Play
61It's Official, I Play Golf
Since the doctor recommended me to choose a sport to practice, I've been thinking about it and I came to the conclusion that I want to learn golf. Why not tennis or something else? That's simple: I can't run, as I'm not that young anymore, I can't afford to stay on a ball's trajectory and risk of getting hit in the face, and I can't make quick movements. This is why I thought golf was the best option, because you can take your time before the shots, you can use the golf carts to move on the field and you get to spend a lot of time outdoors, which is good for health.
I'm now following a golf class which would hopefully make me be able to hit those balls with a precise direction, but I'm also considering golf training aids for home use. I liked very much those golf hitting nets, so I bought one to install in my courtyard and play as much as I want. It's good for the windows, good for my time and also good for my grandchildren who are like crazy to try it too. I've also bought a big bag full of balls, so I don't have to interrupt myself too often to gather those balls from the floor. I'm thiking to leave this pleasure for the little ones who are so willing to help their granny.
Of course, I don't expect to be able to join a golf club and strart playing with the pros this year, but I suppose that if I practice for several months, next year I'll be able to face this challenge. I can't wait to get there.
Next Step: The Birdie Ball Net
One of the golf shots I find most difficult to do correctly is the birdie. That's why I added something to my training kit: a birdie ball net. I'm determined to succeed in becoming at least an average player, so I'm aware that I'll have to train my skills a lot outside the class. Luckily I've got a lot of time, so I can play golf as much as I want every day. However, the health is quite restricting me, because I don't have so much strength in my arms and I've got that morning stiffness that drives me crazy. I think I'll ask my trainer for advice, because I might need to get some strength training exercise at the gym and this could be just too much for an old lady.
Nevertheless, I've spotted a nice gtolf resort where I intend to book a vacation as soon as I'll be able to play without making a fool out of myself.
