School is about to let out and parents and children alike are trying to decide on what kind of vacation they want to take this year. With the economy in poor shape many are afraid to take time off of work for fear of losing money that they need. They are also trying to discover new and inventive ways of having a fun vacation without having to spend thousands of dollars.

With that being said we think that Disney might be off the list - but who says that theme parks are the only fun thing you can do. It’s time to take back family vacations and bring them to the more traditional level. The best way to do this is to go camping.

When many hear the word camping the first thing that comes into their heads is - no shower, no television, and no comfortable beds that we love to sleep on. But who says that we always need these things? Ok. So maybe we would all like to have a shower - but that is what the lake is for right? Not to mention that many public campgrounds have showers available for people to use.

This summer pack up your camping tents, sleeping bags, and cookware and take your family out to the most beautiful camping ground in your area. Together you guys can make hot dogs over a real fire, roast marshmallows, sing camping songs, and even tell ghost stories.

If you want to make things more interesting you can take the kids for hikes and teach them to spot the different species in the area as well as certain plants. This is a time to reconnect and give them a whole new experience that they will want to do over and over again.
