In the past year our lives have changed dramatically. When I say "our" I mean my family. We live in a small 2 bedroom apt and we were just getting ready to buy a house when my husband got laid off.

Things were just beginning to look up for us, we were getting caught up on all the bills and had our cars paid off. Actually we were getting ahead and decided we might go in dept and buy our first home.

I work as a server at Ocharleys, making money was not an issue before but now it seems the economy has kept people at home. At one point bringing $100 a day home was easy, now I'm lucky to make $30.

My husband worked for one of the largest construction company's in our area and they have laid off just about everyone that worked there. After 6 months of unemployment he is still out of work.

Now it seems we are really struggling just to pay what bills haft to be paid every month. I thank God everyday for what we do have and I am so glad we did not go in dept and buy a home.
