How I created my first ever Ebook from scratch – If I can do it so can you
69My first online free report..
Every one of us knows that information sells. Our knowledge can actually be a profitable venture for us. However, do you know that your lack of knowledge can actually be helpful to?
Why is that so? Have you ever wondered that if you do not know how to do something, there is a very high chances that there are others like you out there who might also be facing the same problem? Looking for answer / solutions to the same problem? Why not take advantage of this situation to provide answers and solutions to others while at the same time not only make money for yourself but also make you become an expert.
How do you do that? The answer is to teach others what and how to do. If you can find a solution to solve a problem, you can then teach others how to solve the same problem.
Ebook format is the best format to pass information because people can buy online, people pay you online and the eBook can be immediately downloadable. You not only save on printing costs and shipping costs your customers get your book immediately upon purchase. You also get to keep the profit 100%.
Creating your own information eBook can be profitable if you do your research properly. Here are the steps I took to create my first ever eBook.

You not only save on printing costs and shipping costs your customers get your book immediately upon purchase. You also get to keep the profit 100%.
Creating your own information eBook can be profitable if you do your research properly. Here are the steps I took to create my first ever eBook.
Step 1
Think about whom you are, what you like, your hobbies and what you do.
Step 2
Then list 5 to 6 things that you like. You can list more, actually the longer your list the better. Your list should consist of item you can personally relate to. This is important, because it will be easier for you to reach to more people and identify with them on what they like.
Step 3
Next below each of your interests, write at least one problem you personally face. By doing this you can relate to the types of problem your readers are now facing or might be facing.
Step 4
After that, write a short summary on how you solve your problem.
Go through the list and delete topics you don't have much success in solving and less to write. This can determine the interest level of your readers. Finally determine 1 topic for you to focus on.
What you are actually doing is identifying the "INTENT" of your group. Intent is actually identifying "What problem others are trying to solve"
Using General Directories to find your niche
Step 5
Do your research to make sure the topic you select is a seller and has a high interest level. It is highly recommended to look for the areas that have the MOST demand with the LEAST amount of competition. For my research, I personally like to start at EBay. The link to EBay is http://ebay.com/. EBay is a good place to do research because that is where a lot of consumers go to look for things they are interested in. Once at EBay, key in your selected topic and do a search. List down keywords used in the listing that is related to your topic.
Then do keywords search with keyword selection tools available to identify the ‘demand' on the subject by people out there. I usually use the following: http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/, https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and my personal favourite http://affiliate.wordtracker.com/publisher/aec1c19b.
List down keywords that are highly researched and go back to EBay and key in the new keywords that you have selected. Keep on doing this until you fine tune your keywords. This is important to determine the demand and supply on the topic for your Ebook.
If you have any ideas on a product, I suggest you throw them out of the window. What you need to focus now is to find a market that is hungry for information that can help them solve a problem but they are not finding many relevant search results on the internet.
Yahoo Answers
Custom Search Engine - Google Search in Your Hands
Step 6
Once you have confirmed on the topic, go to Google groups (key-in web addy) or Yahoo groups at http://www.groups.yahoo.com/. Key-in your keywords and check out the groups with high membership. While you are checking on the membership, check also the area of interest this group has. Find groups with at least 150 members and above. The higher the membership, the better. Join in as member BUT do not post anything. Just read what is posted. Keep on doing this for 2 to 3 weeks. Identify the problems members in the group faces and list at least 20 problems that are being posted by members. This is important not only in assisting you to find a solution but also act as a guideline to the chapters in your book. Check also the type of solutions other people in the group provide. Chances are there are not many solutions given. If that happens, you have yourself a good niche. The time is now ripe for you to come up with a product that caters to their needs.
Step 7
Visit http://www.google.com/ and do webs search on the problems. You will definitely find results or information on solving the problem. Go to each individual website and take notes. Remember to just take notes DO NOT copy.
You can also go to http://answers.yahoo.com/. Find out all the types of questions relating to your topic that people are asking. You'll be surprised at the amount of information you can gather from just this one site alone. This is one of my favourite site where I do my research. Sometimes, I do provide answers to the questions posted as it sort of help me create an ‘expert' portfolio. It also act as a guide to the type of answers given. From there you can gauge if the topic has potential ‘expert' information for you to create.
Once you have enough material, lay out your chapters. How many chapters or how long your eBook is going to be is all up to you. Most importantly stay focus. Hence laying your chapters before writing will determine that you stay focus with your topic. If you have difficulty writing, I recommend that you divide your manual into smaller tasks by writing 1 to 2 pages a day. This makes the whole process more manageable. Initially, it's recommended that you just type. Don't worry about spelling or grammar errors. This is your basic draft. Get it completed while your ideas are still flowing. Once you have completed all your chapters, go back and do the necessary editing.
The above research tips are the very basic that I use. You can navigate around discussions forums like Yahoo, Msn and Google groups when searching for clues on what your customers want.
Converting to PDF format
Step 8
Voila, finally your book is completed. You now need to convert it to PDF format. This is usually done through an Adobe Acrobat. If you do not have an Adobe Acrobat, you can download a free copy at http://www.openoffice.org/. They provide PDF capabilities. If you purchased a Microsoft original, you can download your converter here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=4D951911-3E7E-4AE6-B059-A2E79ED87041&displaylang=en.
My first ebook
The layout of your book must always start with a "Title Page". Then create a "Table of Content Page", an "Introduction" page and finally your "Content" page.
Always make sure that your eBook is in the easy to read format. It's highly recommended that you use Arial size 12 fonts.
Once all that is done save your eBook into a PDF format.
Congratulations! Your eBook is now ready to be promoted!
The whole process might sound tedious, but believe me, it is worth every effort. It can be very daunting and disappointing when your research results tell you things that you really do not want to hear. However, I personally fell that it is a lot better than for me to find out AFTER I have spent money and time that the topic I choose is "not right".
Check out my first eBook at http://www.mytoothcaretips.com/braces/free_report.html.
I decided to give it out free to get feedbacks. So, after downloading my eBook and reading it, I would appreciate it if you could leave a comment / feedback for me at this hub. This will help me further improve and hence create more eBooks in the future.
If by following the above steps, you also create your first eBook, please do share your experiences by leaving a comment here to.
