Yes, you read it right. Today I am able to earn $500-$600 per month from work from home jobs doing online work from home. No, I am not a full-time Blogger or any expert webmaster. I am as simple and common as many of you. I started with the idea that if there is internet and if there are websites, there must be some ways to make money online. Why should anybody spend money and time in creating a blog or a website with no return? Business houses have websites to promote their products but not all websites or blogs are owned by business houses. Even common people like you and me have websites and blogs a they all make money. This idea hit my mind and I started exploring ways to make money online working from home. Several time I was trapped in the so called "work from home scam". I came across websites that are complete scam. I filled up forms of some of the "work from home websites" and later found my inbox getting filled with all kinds of rubbish. None of them were real work from home jobs. I even came across some "work from home ads" in news papers and even they were scams. Some asked for money and some asked to pay money online using credit cards. Fortunately I never paid any money to anyone. Remember that you get paid to work from home and you don't have to pay for working from home.
You will often come across following work from home jobs: Accounting Jobs, At Home Translator Jobs, Customer Service Jobs, Data Entry Jobs, Focus Group Jobs, International Jobs, Medical Transcription Jobs, Survey Jobs, and Telephone Jobs. Not all of these are scams. Some of them are real work from home jobs that you can actually do online.

Let me be very much clear and to the point. I started searching for terms such as - at home job, business opportunities, data entry, data entry work from home, earn money, envelope stuffing, free work at home, free work from home, home based business, home based businesses, home business, home jobs, home work, income from home, internet work from home, job from home, jobs at home, jobs from home, legitimate work at home, legitimate work from home, money work from home, part time jobs, stuffing envelopes, work at home, work at home business, work at home jobs, work at home moms, work from home, work from home business, work from home com, work from home job, work from home jobs, work from home opportunities, work from home opportunity, working at home, working from home etc.
I ended up learning that the best ways to work from home and earn money on the internet is to have blogs and websites with articles and display ads or sell products from ebay and Amazon and other such sites.
I started with one blog on Blogger.com. Initially I made no money at all. I got sad but I did not lose home. Somewhere I had learnt that "Patience is a virtue". I kept the patience and kept learning and trying. I started promoting my blog using social networking sites, bookmarking sites, answering questions on Q&A sites, and submitting articles to article directories and publishing press releases. I also started a blog on wordpress.com. Wordpress does not allow to display ads but is a good source to promote our blogs and websites through links in the articles that we publish. I also joined some sites where we can write and publish articles and in return get paid.
Gradually some money started flowing in mainly from Google Adsense. This encouraged me and I started few more blogs on blogger.com. My online income increased further. Then I started a website of my own. I have good knowledge of Microsoft FrontPage and was able to design my own website Free of cost. There was no investment expect that I had to pay for the URL Domain registration and space on a server. My income increased further. I was excited. I started another website and money started flowing in. Now my online income was around $300 - $400 per month. I worked even harder and harder and today my income in between $500 - $600 per month.

I started with blogging on blogger followed by wordpress and then started a website of my own followed by another website. All this took over 4 years. My vote goes for having a website of my own.

@crisis: Start with a GOOD QUALITY Blog on Blogger and on Wordpress. In case you have Adsense A/C, integrate them with your blog on blogger. In case you don't have a Google Adsense A/C, Make at least 5-10 Post ( 100% Original and very-very useful) and the apply for Adsense. Everything else is mentioned the this hub. Just read carefully and honestly and try to Implement them. You need to have Patience, Patience and Patience.

There is a ton of great info here, I like all of the resources for ad networks. I've pretty much stuck to adsense, and have made decent money with minimal work over the years. My goal is to get my passive income level up to a large enough monthly amount that I can eventually leave my day job. To do this, I start a lot of niche blogs, run ads, and do a lot of SEO work to get the sites to rank. So far it has been pretty successful!

I think all of that information was very helpful in our times. The majority of Americans are now unemployed. If we explore the resources out there to earn a little extra cash maybe we can be at earning while we are all home. I enjoy reading and checking into home based business. Many people just look for instant gratification,but if you believe in hard work and determination to make things work then maybe you should take advantage of some of the choices to begin a home based business..

In order to earn $500 from Hubpages, one may need about 50000 Hubs. It is better to have a personal website and work on it with dedication. Hubpages can be used for promotion and linkbacks, that's all.

I'd just like to add that I think people need to know that they may have to "build" their own job, made up of all the types of things you mentioned - rather than hoping to find a immediate, "formal", arrangement/job online. Provided too much work doesn't go into earning "peanuts", I think people need to have a "no income is too small" mentality, too - because the nature of "online" is often that it takes some time tiny earnings to turn into something worthwhile.

J Mockridge, time does tell, which is why people need to realize they generally won't earn the $500/600 immediately; but if patient, it's more than possible to earn at least that much. Just HubPages, alone (and just the right Hubs) can earn someone half (or more) of that much each month.
anjalichugh - make sure you have your own website as well. I think hubpages works as a social media website to get exposure. But you want your own website. It's your piece of virtual real estate. You can drive traffic to it, post your own ads, and control the process.

Great article guidebaba! I think you have hit the nail on the head with the need for patience. It can be very frustrating when people decide to look to the internet to generate an income and then learn how difficult it is, or rather, that results are not instant. Added to that are the technological aspects and the huge learning curve involved. Even with eBay my first results were a complete disappointment but I just came back to it every six or so months, improved here and there, slowly built up a good rating and now when I post things I get much better results. I only sell stuff of my own that I don't need anymore - but what that has taught me has been great. I consider any income from the net 'pennies from heaven'...lol...

Hi Tushar : You should join following online money earning programs - Google Adsense, Kontera, Amazon, ebay and Chitika. Google Adsense is at the TOP at the moment. In order to display Amanoz Ads in your Hubs, you need to add Amazon capsule from the right hand side under revenue Capsules. Once you have added the Amazon Capsule, edit it and add you own keywords and click preview. Now you can save the capsule and the Ads will be there on your hub. You can also use all of these money earning programs in your blog and websites.

Hi Smith. I agree with you. For, Kontera is a SCAM too but I have included it here because Hubpages trust them. Few people here at HP have received payments from Kontera but I not not that fortunate. I reached $90+ and then they started all kinds of scam and tricks. Now they don't even allow me to sign in with the right e-mail ID and Password. What a wastage of time.

In order to have your own website you need to book / register your Domain Name ( e.g: www.workfromhome.com) and also some space on a server to upload your HTML Files. I paid some $35 for a 50MB of Space and Domain Name. This is a yearly fee which means that you have to RENEW your URL Domain Name and Server Space Every Year by Paying this Fee. Any other question?

1. Do some research on a Niche Topic that you are interrested in.
2. Register a Matching URL Domain name and Some space ( 50 MB is Good).
3. Do you know FrontPage Software or any other website designing software? I do all my job in FrontPage Express. It is too easy. If you don't know how to design a website, it may be difficult to make any good money on the internet.
4. Assuming that you know softwares like frontpage or any other software, design your website. Create atleast 20 pages in the beginning and upload them on the server with the help of some FTP Software like Core-FTP or FileZilla.
5. You can also creat a Blog on Blogger and wordpress to promote your website.
6. If you can write 100% original and interresting and very useful article, you will get huge Traffic and eventually make Huge Money.

Its pathetic how so many companies who claim to embrace teleworking only accept US citizens. If a freelancer operates outside the US and does not trade in the US i.e. a UK freelancer or other european, then no w-9 is needed. Thats the job of the employer. w-8ben can be sent to the IRS with an EIN but again only if one is trading in the US or simply the country tax id is only required. If just selling a service or working freelance for a US company, all the IRS needs to know is the country tax id and thats it. However, in order to claim expenses, companies are insisting on w-8ben and w-9s for international applicants though again just tell the IRS that on your tax form. This is not the world of telecommuting, there is a world outside the US.
you must be earning more than $600 a month, you are quite shrewd. using the methods you have stated, people can earn much more but i understand your approach, keep it simple and not portraying a 'get-rich-quick' style. I like how you mentioned that people must actually invest time and work at the plan. Great Hub!

Hi Radhakannan: You can create and host a free website at http://www.webs.com/ but websites created at these platforms are not indexed by search engines properly and hance you have less chances of earning money. Instead you can buy a url name and some space on server. This will cost around Rs. 1,000/- only. Don't try to publish the same article on multiple websites. This is against TOS of Adsense. It is not going to help at all. Any other question?

@prasanna: I have 3 websites with 50MG space and unlimited bandwidth and paid Rs. 1,500/-. This is an annual exp. Don't buy it online. Look at some newspapers and you will find ads. Personally go and visit people offering these kind of services and buy your package from them.
I have also been able to make money using google adsense. I have found the key is to get a lot of links. I write articles and do some link exchanges. Works for me.

I have seen many sites with making money online but yours far better then any I have seen. Tons of information here and I have bookmarked for future references. I have question though.
