Reviewing the Zi6. How I use the Kodak Zi6 HD Flip Camera

Never miss an opportunity to shoot video
I'm a hyperlocal blogger in my hometown. You may or may not have heard of this term before. It's a relatively new term that has been coined to describe bloggers who blog about their local communities.
A hyperlocal blogger could be a neighborhood blogger or a person who strictly blogs about your kid's athletic association. Maybe you only write about the local street vendors in your town...that's hyperlocal.
Now that I hope I've given you a better understanding of the term, I want to talk about one of the tools I use all of the time in my hyperlocal efforts. The Kodak Zi6 HD flip camera. This little wonder is about the size of an iPod and I take it everywhere I go.
I'm always on the lookout for stories, photo's and video opportunities. The cool thing about the Kodak Zi6 is that you can literally find a story while sitting at a traffic light. I'm serious folks, this is what being a hyperlocal blogger is all about. I could take out the Zi6 and shoot video of the cars around me while waiting for the light to turn.
I can take the video and upload it to YouTube. Let's say it's just a 30 second clip of the traffic. I can take the video and embed it on my local community blog because I'm an official Citizen Journalist. When I write the article, I will give it a rich description. Here is an example of the article I might write.
Traffic was heavy today in Charlotte, NC while drivers waited patiently at the many stoplights that separated them from their weekend trip to the beach. I shot this Charlotte, NC traffic video today while at the intersection of Queens Rd. and Independence Blvd. across for Eastland Mall. Everyone was patient but you could sense the urgency of the many folks were escaping Mecklenburg County for the cool beach sands of the North Carolina coast.
As you might have noticed, I filled my article with some keyword search terms that would apply to my local area and accompanied it with a 30 second video clip from my Zi6. Believe it or not, that short article would send my blog traffic from on. It would send good Google traffic for months to come.
Go to Google and type in IKEA Charlotte Video. In my area, I'm #1. Look for the article from Monroe Scoop and the one from Topix. I didn't even want to go and now I have a top ranked search result courtesy of my Kodak Zi6.
How did I do it? Easy. I shot a quick video with my little friend the kodak Zi6. This is just one of the many, many ways to use this little flip camera. I take it everywhere I go. Recently, my wife asked that I accompany her to the new IKEA store that had just opened in Charlotte, NC. Honestly, I did not want to go, but I grabbed my Zi6 and figured their may be a video opportunity.
Boy was there! I took the opportunity to shoot a video tour of the entire store with my little Kodak. When I got back, I did a little editing and optimized my article for keywords and posted the video. The results were great and people seemed to love the video. I have posted the video below and I hope you enjoy it. This is just one of the ways I use my Kodak Zi6 HD Flip Camera.
Video opportunities are all around you when you carry the Kodak Zi6
I hope you enjoyed the video above. The Zi6 has become a part of me just like my cell phone. I love the little camera so much that I posted a video review. My video review is also shot in high-definition and I go into some detail about the features and use of the camera. For those contemplating purchasing this camera, I say go for it, you will not be disappointed. Check out my Kodak Zi6 Review.
I choose Amazon for all of my online purchases.
