How Many Moons Does Mars Have very interesting question since Mars is less then half the size of the Earth.

Well Mars has two moons very small asteroid size moons. It is lead to believe that long ago the moons where actually asteroids that were captured.

The smallest of the two moons is Deimos which orbits Mars from a far distance.

The larger moon is Phobos which orbits Mars very close and is lead to believe that some time in the very far future it will crash into mars.
