How Much Does Your "Why" Matter in Network Marketing?
44If you're in a network marketing business, you have heard the key to your success is having a big enough "Why". I completely agree, you need to have a strong belief in order to be successful. I do have a vision board where I glue pictures of goals I want to achieve and then see myself with them. When I get discouraged I look again at those pictures and remind myself why I'm building my business.
I have always been a proponent of positive thinking and personal development. I encourage other people with it as well. I do think network marketing companies and sponsors can go overboard when that's the knee jerk response to your lack of success.
You do need a big "Why" to keep you going in tough times, which everyone has, but you also need a big enough "How" to get you to your "Why". The methods that are taught would be comical if they weren't so sad. Nobody I know enjoys calling friends and family and asking them to join the business. After that, asking them if they have friends and family interested and then buying leads when your social circle dries up.
If this is the only "How" you have you will need an enormous "Why" and may never get there. The better way to achieve your "Why" is to learn how to market and attract people to you. Wouldn't selling be so much easier if you had a number of people contacting you every day asking for your help?
When you become a person of value and skill, you can write your own ticket regardless of which network marketing company or industry you are involved in. The successful people take time to learn marketing and sales and make it their hobby. It's supposed to be fun so put a smile on your face and launch out into an exciting and prosperous adventure.

Thanks Jim! This is my first hub I wrote last night. I feel like I'm on the right track with my attraction marketing. I agree, if you don't have a realistic "How" besides bugging friends and family you more than likely won't reach your goals. Thanks for responding!

Hello Joel,
First of all ... welcome to HubPages (and I assume the Renegade and MarketingMerge land as well). You have definitely hit upon an interesting subject regarding the Why-How relationship especially with respect to what many call "old school" network marketing methods.
Many people fail (or at least give up) in MLM (present company included) because the traditional warm market/cold calling methods alone do not work for most people.
Learning the "hows" of attraction and relationship marketing definitely help provide the tools to help sustain the action required to achieve the "Why". :)
Nice Hub .... thanks for sharing
