How My Parent's Lost Weight
66Weight Loss Through Hard Work
You know I really admire my mother and father. At the age of 50 they realized they were overweight. They weren't FAT by any means, but sometimes there is more to being healthy then being just ok. Anyway this was when they decided to start running. They did what is called interval training. They would run for 1 minute, then walk for 1, then run for 1, and walk for 1 again. They did this 10 times to make up 10 minutes of good physical activity. After they got used to running for that length of time they did 2 minutes of running and then 1 minute of walking. Now they run 10km races. Last year mom placed 3rd place in Atlantic Canada and dad broke 40 minutes (which is ridiculous).
Anyway I thought this was a great way of training and it certainly helped my parents. They are in better shape than ever. Certainly better than their 22 year old son sitting in front of his computer… I guess it’s time for a walk ha ha.
My Aunt actually recently lost a lot of weight a strange way, she tried hypnosis. If you want to give this a shot (she doesn't work as hard as my folks and you might be in the same boat I guess) you can check out these hypnosis weight loss tips.
There are sooooo many other places on the internet that have more weight loss tips so I thought I would sort through and give everyone a few recomendation. Weight loss go is a great site about losing weight primarily throughexercise, so if that's your cup if tea then check out that site. If you're moreof a "meantalist" then check out the site lose weight healthy where you shoulf be able to find a weath of knowledge about losing weight by positive thinking. If you want to read about a "food and wine buff" losing weight there are a lot of weight loss tips about losing weight with wine. Finally if will power is as big an issue for you as it is for me then check out weight loss willpower for a great site all about losing weight and fighting your inner deamons.

I tried running for a little while. It was a really little while!
I bought a nice cushy pair of sneakers, got myself all worked up with motivation, laced up and headed down the block with a fury! A couple blocks later, I was thinking about calling a cab to come and take me back home.
I think I'm too old to do any running these days as I have problems with my knees and ankles. Instead I like to do Pilates.
I have knee and foot problems so I don't walk or run, I do Platees instead, it involves a plate, fork and a knife. :-P

That's good that you share your parents' experience. My dad is naturally slim like me but my mum has just lost a lot of weight. I think I will write about it because I'm sure a lot of people could learn from it.
