This can't happen to me can it?

The other day I ran into a friend that I had not seen in over a year and we ended up going to lunch together. As we where talking and getting caught up on things, Allen told me this shocking story. It seems that someone had gotten ahold of his social security number and stolen his identity. They had not only ruined his credit, but they had applied over $120,000.00 dollars of bad debt to his name! He said that he found out about it when he and his wife had gone to buy a new car and where turned down because of their FICO score. He new that that was impossible because he had never been more than a day or two late on any of his payments, ever and his FICO was well above 750 when he and his wife moved here and built a new house worth well over $750,000.00 5 years ago. He said that the finance man at the dealership, who also new Allen, let him see the credit report and it only took him a second to realize what had happened. As he read over it he became very angry and his wife began to cry. That was 5 months ago and it still is not cleared up by no means. I asked Allen if he knew how this person or persons had gotten ahold of his SS# and he said that the police gave him about 20 ways it could have happened before He told the Detective to stop.

So over the last few days I started thinking has this happened to me. I have always had perfect credit and have never been turned down for anything. But still I wonder. I tried to think of all the places that had my SS#. Here are a few that Allen said he remembered form the Detective, Insurance Company, Doctor and Dentist offices, Banks, Utility Company, Retirement Company, School Records, Military Records and on and on. The Detective told Allen that it has gotten much worse lately because there is a strong sellers market out there for your info, Crooks are paying BIG MONEY for your good credit info!

I decided over the weekend to look into how I could protect My good credit! I looked on the net and found 3 top names. After reading over there sites, I decide on Lifelock, but I still put links to the other 2 as well, cause what works for me may not work for you.

Just click on the link below and find the one that works best for you. I hope you found this informative, let me know.
