How To Analyze Your Tennis Opponent
56How To Analyze Your Tennis Opponent
To be successful, it will be necessary to isolate your opponents weakness and attack them. You need to figure out why those weaknesses are in the warm up. Many players concentrate only on what they do best and ignore finding out what their opponents do poorly. What you do best does not always win a match. Here are tips to help analyze an opponent in the warm up:
*Hit down the middle to see what stroke they choose. Most often they'll choose their favorite side.
*Notice their racquet. Net players sometimes like wide-bodies. Baseliners perfer a thin racquet.
*How much net practice do they take? Many baseliners don't even bother with volleys and overheads in the warm up.
*Do they hit slice or topspin?
*Do they like to run for wide balls?
*What type of spin is on the serve?
*How many serves do they take? Big servers often like to take a lot.
