How To: Eyeshadow, Eyes That Make Him Look Twice...Paula Dorf Eyeshadows

Picking Your Brand Of Eyeshadow
The brand of eyeshadow that you pick is very important. Yes, all eyeshadow brands have different colors, and they all go on your eyelid. But how long they stay, and what it looks like is the important part. If you want to go the cheap route, then this isn't really for you. You could still use the tips and techniques that I will give you, but it won't look the same as if you would pay just a little more.
Let me start off by saying that the cost of cosmetics has increased at an astonishing rate. To not pay the few extra bucks it takes to buy the quality makeup that will make all the difference on your face is kind of dumb, in my opinion. Even what we used to consider "cheap makeup" isn't so cheap anymore. And the brands that are still relatively cheap, stay on your face for about an hour, and that is if you are lucky. Take my advice when I say that you are forking out more money in the long run, on the cheap makeup products that you buy rather than going ahead and treating yourself to begin with, just because it doesn't even stay on your face. You will end up re-applying your makeup throughout the day, numerous times, costing you more money than you could imagine.
Having said that, the brand that I will always suggest is the line from Paula Dorf. Her makeup line is used by many celebrities, and costs less than what you would probably think that a star would pay for their makeup.
Eyeshadow applying is actually very easy to do once you get the hang of it. By learning just a few techniques, and knowing what colors look good with your specific eye color, you can make your eyes your number one feature. Men always look at your eyes. Make sure that you have dressed them up the best that you can with Paula Dorf Eye Color!

Your Basic ~How To Eyeshadow
When applying eyeshadow, using at least 3 different colors is what makes your eyes so noticeable. Always start with the Paula Dorf Eye Primer. This is what will help to keep your eyeshadow on all day and looking great.
You will need to pick your 3 colors, a very light color (preferrably something with a bit of glitter or sparkle), then a neutral color for the second one (something darker than the first color), then a dark color for the crease of your lid.
Now, you want to start with the lightest color first, applying the light color all over the entire eye lid. You want to apply eyeshadow to the entire lid so that you have created your base color. You want to put a little extra up near the brow. Make sure that you put the lightest color all the way up to the eyebrow, (there should be no bare skin between the eyeshadow and brow.)
You will pick the next darkest color, and apply it from the crease of your lid, (in the middle of your lid) all the way down to your eyelash line. Make sure that when you are using your eyeshadow brush, you are brushing the eyeshadow all around the correct area in a kind of circular motion. If you are just brushing it on from side to side, it won't look very natural.
You will then take the darkest color that you picked out, and apply it from the outer corner of the lid inward along the crease of your eyelid, only about half way into the lid. This creates a kind of dramatic look that really makes your eyes stand out.
I use this technique no matter what colors I choose. Always 3 colors, and starting with the lightest, working my way to the darkest. I brush the lightest color right under my eyebrow one last time to finish it up. This will ensure that any of the darker colors that you used that may have went astray during brushing, will be covered up at the top, (where the makeup is most noticeable.)
Finally, take a clean brush brush and lightly brush along the outside of your eyes to make sure that any of the eyeshadow that went outside of your eyelid is brushed away and blended naturally.
Paula Dorf has an awesome line of brushes to apply your eyeshadow. They are designed to do exactly what you need them to do. There is the Perfect Smokie Lid Brush, used for creating of course the smokey look.
Then there is the Perfect Eye Contour Brush, obviously used to contour. This brush is shaped perfectly to use in the crease of your lid so that you can define the color in that spot with more definition.

Make Your Brown Eyes Pretty
When it comes to picking colors for brown eyes from Paula Dorf's line of makeup, I have chosen what I believe to be the best 3 pick combination to really make the brown-eyed girl look beautiful.
•The base color is called Aura.
•The second color to use at the bottom of the lid is called Desire.
•And the color for the crease of the eye is called Fudge, (how appropriate?)
These would be the colors for a night on the town, otherwise known as the dramatic look.
Now if you are looking more for a daytime trio, I have picked another 3 colors that I feel are best for the brown-eyed girl.
•The base color is called Strapless.
•The second color to use at the bottom of the lid is called Stardust.
•And the color to use for the crease of the eye is called Delirious.
These 3 colors are in the Pink family, and look delicious with brown eyes. Going into the pink family with brown eyes give you a very romantic and yet professional look. It really can be used for day or evening time, just make sure you put that darkest color in the crease of your eye. Even if you only want to use 2 colors, it's still a good look.

Make Your Blue Eyes Pretty
The 3 colors that I have chosen for blue eyes are an elegant trio.
•The base color is called Cherub.
•The second color to use at the bottom of the lid is called Halo.
•And the color to use at the crease of the eye is called Hypnotic.
There is another color called Mambo, which is a more smoky color. This can also be used in the crease of the eye if you want to get really dramatic. I do think the darkest colors such as Mambo should only be used in the evening time.
•For the daytime look for blue eyes, go with a base color Cherub as before.
•The second color to use at the bottom of the lid is called Daydream.
•And the color for the crease is called is called Nymph.
The color Nymph is a blue color. Something to keep in mind with blue eyeshadow is that you do not want to over do it. Blue eyeshadow can be used to really bring out your blue eyes, IF you use it to your advantage. The best tip for using blue eyshadow is that It needs to be blended in very well. It shouldn't be like looking into the eyes of someone stepping out of 1982. When used in the crease of the eye only, and blended well, blue eyeshadow can make a whole new look for blue eyes!
One more eyeshadow to consider for the crease of your eye, especially during the summer months, is Delirious. This is one of the colors suggested for the brown-eyed girl as well. It is a pink tone, and so very pretty with any eyecolor really. You know what they say..."Pretty in Pink!"

Make Your Green Eyes Pretty
In my opinion, green eyes are very versatile. You can use just about any family of colors, and make it look great. I am going to give you the 3 colors that I have picked out for green eyes that I think are the very best for making them stand out even more. Just remember that you can really go with the other suggestions listed above for brown and blue eyes, and it is still going to look great.
•The base color is called Fire Dance.
•The second color to use at the bottom of the lid is called Wet Sand.
•And the color to use in the crease of the lid is called Gold Digger.
This trio of colors can be used for you green eyed girls any time of day, and your eyes will absolutely sparkle.
Now, there is another option for the crease of the lid as well that has the same rule as the blue eyeshadow. The color is called Safari. It is a green eyeshadow. It is an absolutely stunning color, but again, needs to be used in the crease ONLY, and needs to be blended in very well. It is not a bright green, it is neutral in color. But, it is still green, and does not need to be overused.
One more cool trio for the green-eyed girl. This one would be especially good for the evening time, as it would be a more smoky look.
•The base calor is called Tinsel.
•The second color to use at the bottom of the lid is Tease.
•And the color for the crease of the lid is twilight. Twighlight is a dark color, so it needs to be in the crease ONLY, and again, blended in well.
Make sure especially when you are using the extremely dark colors in the crease, that you brush the lightest color one last time up near the eyebrow as your last step to applying your eyeshadow. You don't want to have any stray dark shadow up that high. It will always brighten your eyes to do this as your last step.

Now You Know How, Apply Eyeshadow Like The Pros!
When it comes to eyeshadow applying, following the trio technique is the best way to go. However, going with 4 colors can add even more definition. Blending the colors together to look natural is the key. You can have a lot of fun with this, and create many different looks for yourself.
The main thing to remember is just stick to one family of colors at a time. If you like pink eyeshadows, then pick 3 or 4 different shades of it, and stick to it.
When it comes to using the blue and green, or more dramatic colors such as these, use them lightly, and in the crease only.
If you want to know how to apply brown eyeshadow, follow the steps. Just stick within the brown family of colors, and so on with each family of shades.
This is the easiest How To....Eyeshadow applying is simple and fun!
Learning how to apply eyeshadow is for sure, not rocket science....just a little girly touch is all that is needed.
