There are a few things that anyone who is looking into PSP skins should be aware of. First of all, you have to know what a skin is and what they do for your handheld. Sony PSP skins come in two main styles: vinyl decals and gel or silcon covers. The gel or silicon based covers just slide over your PSP to provide protection from nicks or scratches and helps prevent fall damage. Vinyl decals for the PSP on the other hand, are more like stickers. You just peel and paste them right on to give your handheld console a new look and stop scratches, dirt, and grime.

The gel based skins are really very simple to put on - you just slide the PSP right inside the cover. The vinyl based PSP skins are a little more complicated to put on but still not that difficult. Below you will find a guide to help you apply your Sony PSP vinyl decal skins with ease.

How To Put On Sony PSP Skins

You will need a few things to get your skins on correctly: a bottle of rubbing alcohol and some rags or paper towels.

First Step: Clean The PSP

Start off by getting your paper towel or rag wet and applying some rubbing alcohol. Don't over do it. Now clean off your whole handheld except the screen with the rubbing alcohol. Make sure you get in and around the sticks and buttons. Take a seperate damp rag to clean the screen. When you're finished, dry off the console with another paper towel.

Second Step: Apply The Skin To Your PSP

Skins for the PSP come in two parts, one for the top and one for the bottom. It is actually one of the easiest of the consoles to skin. Let's start with the back or bottom. Peel off the paper backing and then put it back on leaving a slight edge. Line up that edge and seal if off. Get the rest of the backing off and seal off the rest. Don't leave any bubbles or air pockets.

Next is the top skin. This one can be a little tricky so take your time and align the skin over the buttons and screen. Repeat the same process as with the bottom, making sure to seal the edges around the buttons and edges of the screen.

And that's all there is to it. Putting on skins for your PSP is really quite easy and even easier if you get gel or silcon based skins. So go out there and enjoy your new skin. I hope this guide was what you're looking for but if it wasn't enough I also inlcuded a video.
