When it comes to applying Wii skins there a few things any Nintendo Wii console owners should know that can save some headaches down the road. First off some of you might ask what are Wii "skins"? Well they're actually specially cut vinyl decals (stickers as some call them) that are designed to fit the outside of your case. These skins for Nintendo Wii come in three parts for the case and usually one for the Wiimote. They are designed to not only enhance the look and feel of your video game console but also to protect it from smudges, smears, and dust.

So how exactly do these wii skins work? It's really very simple, you peel the back off and paste them right onto the outside of the case. Well actually there's a few things you need to do to make sure they go on right and stay on but that is the basic premise. And I guess that brings us to the guide portion of this Hub.

How To Put On Wii Skins

If you want to put on your Nintendo Wii skin properly you need to gather a few materials first. You will need rubbing alcohol and a clean rag or paper towels. You also will need you Wii console obviously, disconnected from any power source and your TV.

1. Clean The Console's Case

OK so now that you have all the materials, wet your rag or paper towel with a little rubbing alcohol and water with just enough to barely dampen it. Now wipe down your Wii console thoroughly making sure to get the top, bottom, and all the sides. Make sure that you get the disc slot and memory card slots and that there isn't any dust or debris left on the case or your Nintendo Wii skins might peel off down the road. Grab a dry paper towel or rag and dry it off.

2. Put The Wii Skins On

As I mentioned earlier, Wii covers come in three different pieces: the top, bottom, and faceplate. Let's start with the faceplate. Flip the decal over and look for the paper backing. Take that backing off and reapply it, leaving a small exposed edge to work with. Take the skin and line it up with the edge of the faceplate (make sure the holes align too). Remember to take your time with this step, if you have to keep peeling it off when you don't align it right the first time, it might not have enough adhesive left to stay on the case. Now here's where you apply some pressure and seal the edge off. When it is secured you can take the rest of the backing of and seal that down as well. Just repeat the steps again for the top and bottom.
