How I Recovered From Migraine With Aloe Vera

Between 1987 and 1995 every month I suffered very badly with period pain accompanied by extremely heavy blood loss. This required quite a lot of pain killers. Added to this I was also a severe migraine sufferer (and more pain killing drugs). This continued until 1995 when I was advised to undergo major surgery because the problems I was experiencing were due to a fibroid which, because it went undiagnosed for nearly 10 years had grown to the size of a large orange! I was now chronically anaemic and weighed 8 stone. The surgery went ahead and I was given a blood transfusion immediately, because the surgeons had trouble sewing me back up again! In the following 3 days my temperature went up to 103 degrees and the shock of the surgery led to a Near Death Experience. Thereafter I was given antibiotics to prevent blood poisoning, and Voltarol a very strong painkiller to deal with the post operative pain, which was administered every 3 hours for 6 days.

I recovered fully, but after the surgery I noticed that my migraine attacks became progressively worse. What I didn’t know at the time was that the surgery, plus years of taking painkilling drugs, (paracetamol and ibuprofen) was slowly destroying my digestive system. I had always been careful with eating things like cheese and chocolate, but it seemed that anything could trigger an attack. Eventually no painkilling drugs could even touch the pain anyway – the pills just stopped working. Instead I was prescribed a drug by my GP to ease the symptoms, but this didn’t really address the underlying problem. By 2005 the migraine attacks had progressed to include vomiting and chronic sinus and breathing problems alongside the unbearable pain. I was getting seriously worried. I couldn’t eat for 24 hours during each attack either which brought on low-blood sugar and depression – fun eh??

However, one day I went along to a women’s networking event and met a woman who told me about Aloe Vera. She told me that you could drink this ‘wacky cactus juice’ and that it might help me with the migraines. At that time I was tired, fed up and would have tried anything. Well, within three weeks the Aloe Vera Gel sorted out my digestion, and after 3 months the migraines were showing definite signs of improvement. 6 months later the incidence and severity were reduced by 90%. I also incorporated Bee Pollen and Gingko which has given me more energy and stamina. Not only do I feel tons better, I’ve discovered that my hair is thicker and I look great! And I can usually get by with only 6 hours sleep. Drinking the gel and taking these supplements means that I can successfully combine Coaching and my Wellness Business with Forever Living. The old me would never have the energy to do this, and am thankful that I was introduced to Aloe Vera just when I needed it.

What's In Aloe Vera?

Aloe Vera has been referred to as The Miracle Plant or The Silent Healer, The Burn Plant or ever The Medicine Plant.

It was used by both the ancient Chinese and Indian cultures, Greeks and Romans.  Legend suggest that Aristotle persuaded Alexander the Great to capture the island of Socotra in the Indian Ocean to get is rich supply of Aloe to heal his wounded soldiers on the return hom from their successful compaign into Persia in 333BC.  The Egyptian queens Nefertiti and Cleopatra also rated it highly as a beaty therapy.

Aloe Vera is a succulent looking rather like a cactus, but it is in fact a member of the lily family related to onions, garlic and asparagus.  When mature, the inner gel can be harvested, perserved and bottled to produce a product that is as near to the natural plant juice as we can get.

To benefit from Aloe Vera, the gel can be taken internally for its nutritional anti-inflammatory and immune balancing effect.  it can also be combined with other ingredients to produce topical creams and lotions to nourish and improve the quality of the skin.

Inside the leaf Aloe Vera gel contains at least 75 known ingredients and maybe more which are yet to be discovered.

Why Does It Boost Your General Health?

By drinking Aloe Vera Gel the body is able to draw enough nutrients to allow complex enzyme systems to work really well.  This means that the body can function at 100% resulting in a feeling of wellbeing - and it's no accident that people who drink it call it 'Happy Juice'!!

What Is It Good For Your Digestion?

Firstly because its affect on the gut. Aloe Vera has a wonderfully beneficial action on bowel function which results in smooth and efficient transit of contents, often eradicating inconvenient colicky pain.

A healthy digestive tract ensures that nutrients from the food we eat are absorbed into the bloodstream.  Not many people realise that most of the food that is grown in British soil is deficient in essential vitamins and minerals.  There is clear clinical evidence that by drinking Aloe Vera Gel, the bowel is able to absorbe these nutrients more efficiently - especially protein.

Aloe Vera is a natural 'balancer' in many areas including inside the gut, where it regulates the various bacertia and yeats that inhabit it.  For example, if you had too much yeast in your gut regular ingestion of the gel would tend to reduce this overgrowth.  The same can be said of the more unfriendly bacteria that can accumulate in certain conditions.

What Does It Do For Your Skin?

Aloe Vera gel provides the essential nutrition to feed the basal cells.  This is because when skin cells are first produced deep in the epidermis, skin cells are rather large and very much alive.  However, by the time they reach the surface layer of your body after 21-28 days (in normal skin that is), they are just think flakes of keratin which eventually fall off.  Therefore, your skin, by drinking Aloe Vera gel will be able to perform its vital function more efficiently - as well as looking much better!

Further it increases the activity of fibroblasts which are specialised cells found in the skin.  Their job is to produce fibre such as collagen and elastin.  These fibres give the skin its structure and of course, make it look plump and elastic.  The more you have, the younger your skin may look.

How Does It Protect You Against Viruses?

Some of the minerals found in Aloe Vera include callcium, sodium, potassium, iron, chromium, magnesium, manganese, copper and zinc.  This is because the plant tends to grow in areas where soils are rich in these minerals and its roots are able to aqbsorbe and deliver them to us in a very available form.

Aloe Vera Gel contains a large range of vitamins - even trace elements of vitamin B12 which is rarely found in plants.  Apart from vitamin A, it contaisn B-group vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E and folic acid.  Many of these vitamins cannot be stored gy the body so we need to constantly top them up from the food that we eat. A daily amount of Aloe Vera Gel will help to build up the body's defence system against oxidative stress - completely naturally!!
