Taking care of your dogs teeth is very important. You want to have a nice healthy dog and that includes their teeth. Now I can hear you thinking, just how do I brush my dogs teeth. Well it's actually not that difficult. This hub will teach you how to brush your dogs teeth.

1. Purchase the supplies you will need at any local pet supplies store. You will need a dog toothbrush and a tube of dog toothpaste.

2. Accustom your puppy to the brush. At first your puppy may think that the dog toothbrush is a toy. Make sure to let them know through soft taps on the nose that it is not a toy. Before using any toothpaste on the brush, first use the brush gently on your pup's teeth. You may need to hold on firmly to your pup so he does not squirm away during this process.

3. Once you have a firm hold on your puppy you can apply dog toothpaste to the brush and begin to clean the teeth. You will want to hold the pup in between your knees so you can use both hands to brush their teeth. Separate the lips using one hand, which will expose the pup's teeth. Next begin brushing in circular motions with your free hand.

4. Repeat the process. Once you have cleaned and brushed one side of your pup's mouth, make sure to repeat the process on the other side. You may need a reapplication of the toothpaste for this.

5. Clean your dog toothbrush afterward. Once you have finished brushing your dog's teeth praise him and let him get a drink of water to wash their mouth out with. Make sure you thoroughly clean the dog toothbrush and place it somewhere sanitary. You will want to brush your dog's teeth at least once per week to maintain proper pet dental care.
