Do you know what the secret is to building a great looking Gingerbread House. You simply use a box or several boxes of Graham Crackers to build your Ginger Bread House. Using Graham Crackers you can quickly and easily assemble a Ginger Bread House or even a Ginger Bread Village. And remember that you can use a warmed sharp knife to cut other shapes from Graham Crackers. Just dip your knife in very hot water for a couple of minutes to warm it up. You can use graham cracker bears and animal crackers for decoration also.

Use a piece of cardboard that you have covered with white icing to build your Ginger Bread House or Ginger Bread Village on. You will need a couple of pastry bags with small tips to decorate your Ginger Bread House with. Licorice Sticks , Gum Drops , Candy Sprinkles and etc can all be used to decorate your Ginger Bread House with. You can use food coloring to dye your white icing various colors also. Just let your imagination run wild while you and your children have fun decorating your Ginger Bread House.  

We use a small model train that looks like the North Pole Express in our Ginger Bread Village which we set up on a small table and its a huge hit with everyone especially the children. We wrapped very small boxes like the kind matches come in and load the train down with these. When you turn the lights out in the room and you only have the train lights and a string of colored lights we use as the village lights it takes you away to another time and place. Really a little bit of Christmas Magic.
