How To Build A Website For A Beginner - Are Instructions Available?
64
Years ago I began my website business, though I could hardly call it that at the time. I was looking for extra money and I read a story about some guy making $10,000 a month using eBlogger. It seemed simple enough. Post information to their "website" they provided and Adsense clicks would make me rich.
I soon learned it wasn't that simple. I was making squat.
I wanted - needed - a real website that I could control without the restrictions of some automatic template service that gave me a basic design that couldn't be changed and set restrictions on me. The trouble was that, at the time I didn't know anything about how to go about it. I didn't know what was required to even put a website on the Internet, let alone how to generate money from it.
I spent weeks looking for information on the Internet that would give me instructions. There weren't any and until now, there still is very little information that teaches a beginner to website building, how to build a website. What I found and is still found are those websites selling their "automatic" website building programs which requires you to "subscribe" to their service - always at exhorbitant rates. They also bombard you with emails trying to sell additional "services" or affiliate tools that promise instant success.
I taught myself the old fashioned way. I bought books on the subject. Everything from the "Websites for Dummies" to "CSS Made Simple." Many nights were spent falling asleep after only reading a few pages. Not much of a story to those things. But I tortured myself long enough to figure out the basics. It took me months before any of it made sense.
I was hardly the computer whiz. About the only thing I could do was send an email with a picture attached in it. Really, I was that computer illiterate.
Even today, should you query a search in Google for, "How to build a website", the top returns are for sites selling a program of one kind or another. I wouldn't mind that if they actually included instructions within those programs, but they don't. They are just selling a "service." They will provide a template. They will host the website, and you will pay them an outragous fee for it. Yes, they are simple. Drag and drop the element you want to use in your website (much like Hubpages) and build it.
Again, you have little control in how the website will look, as many element sizes cannot be changed and the final look of the website appears to be exactly what it is - a copy of thousands of others, created in the same way.
What I was looking for was the knowedge of, how to get my choice of different website appearances, how to get a domain name, how to get a host server, how to make the two work together, how to upload my website - myself, without their "service" - how to become an affiliate, and most importantly, how to make money at the least cost to me. I had a lot of questions that the Internet results from Google just don't give.
Finally, there are some answers being offered. Blogs are now providing some information for beginners, as well as those posted around Hubpages and other sources. The trouble is that one persons information doesn't match up with another persons. While one person may write about a Hosting service, he doesn't write about how to upload a website, giving exact instructions of where to upload it to. Often, you only read "Now upload your website to your Host directory."
Hello? I might be an idiot who knows nothing! Where to my Host? How do I upload?
Then I love those instructions I see that say, "Apply to "x" affiliate program." Having been in this business for years now, I can tell you that without proper preparation of a website, your application to the best affiliate programs will be denied. The best ones for creating real income are very selective. Present them with one of those "Automatic" websites and you will be denied. Show them a website that was built for the sole purpose of placing ads on it and you will be denied.
Worst of all, they promise you can make thousands of dollars doing nothing but creating a website and joining affiliate programs. Shame! They aren't honest in telling people that to make money you have to have people find your website. The best looking website in the world won't make money if nobody knows it exists and to do that, takes time and effort. What that effort is, they don't bother telling you either.
I've spent a good deal of money doing reviews on a variety of
programs and guides available on the Internet. It is part of my
business. I have people that pay me for my honest opinions (so yes, I do recoup my expenses) and I have found one of the most basic of Instructional Programs.
The HomeIncome30 website building instruction program guarantees that you can install any website in 30 minutes and start making money in 30 days. No lies about overnight riches and instant money like other programs put out in a sales pitch. You do not need any prior experience or knowledge of computers to learn how to build websites using this guide. The HomeIncome30program is made for beginners - those with little or no knowledge of computers.
If you really want to create a website at minimal cost and be accepted into the best affiliate programs for a chance at creating a second income, I suggest you investigate it further. I only wish it had been around 10 years ago. I could have saved a lot of time and aggravation.
