How To Clean Dr Browns Bottles Faster, Better
66Dr. Browns Bottles are a great way to reduce the amount of air that baby ingests when drinking from a baby bottle. They have special internal vent system that eliminates the vacuum effect and without ingesting the air bubbles, baby suffers less from gas, spitting up, and even colic.
Oxidation happens in the bottle when air mixes with the formula. Because this does not happen with Dr Browns bottles, the nutrients such as vitamins A, C, and E are maintained better in the formula or milk.
Dr Browns bottles are also BPA, PVC, and lead free. They come in a variety of widths and lengths. With my own daughter, when I found Dr Browns bottles I began to use them exclusively to reduce the amount of gas that was previous giving my baby an upset tummy.
I had 8 of the slim width 8oz bottles. This was the perfect amount to get through the day and get what was used in the dishwasher while having some ready the very next morning. These are not like other bottles. There are more parts then with traditional baby bottles but once you get into a system for cleaning, it becomes quite easy.

- Nipples, vent reservoirs and vent inserts should be cleaned with the thin cleaning brushes that come with the bottles. Get into the small holes of the vent reseviours
- Collars, caps, disks, and lids can all be cleaned by hand or with a sponge.
- If you do not have a dishwasher, rinse and put all pieces into a tub of bleach water to sterilize. Use 2 tablespoons to 1 gallon of water. Air dry on a towel or on a dish rack.
- If you have a dishwasher, using two bottle baskets are the best way to keep all the pieces together on the top rack. The bottles should be placed on top rack only.
