Pinto Beans With Ham Hocks Recipe
If you want to know how to cook a kettle of beans well I'm about to give you one of the most delicious recipes you will ever taste. I strongly suggest you to soak your pintos over night before cooking them the next day.Once you soak your beans over night pour the water off and wash them well under cold running water. Now place your pinto beans into a large stock pot and add the below.
1. 1 Cup Purple Sweet Onion Diced Fine.
2. 1 Cup Green Bell Pepper Diced Fine.
3. 1 Cup Celery Diced Fine.
4. 4 Fresh Ham Hocks Or Smoked Ham Hocks.
5. 1 Tablespoon Cayenne Pepper.
6. 1 Teaspoon Sea Salt.
7. 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper.
Put all your ingredients in the pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to medium. Cook for 2 hours stirring often. Now reduce your heat to low and cook 2 more hours. Be sure tha you stir your kettle of beans often.
Some people like to cut up a pound of Kielbasa Sausage into thin slices and fry it until brown. They then add the cooked sausage to the pot of beans in the last hour of cooking time.
Serve your beans over hot buttered rice and garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
