In today's society, people are becoming increasingly aware of weight loss and shedding unwanted pounds. With so many products offered on the market, it's enough to make your head spin or worse, forget your diet planaltogether. To begin with a body detox, you must first mentally prepare yourself for the process. Start with valuable information on how to detox your body and give yourself the confidence you need.
So How Do You Start?
We are so used to eating certain foods on a regular basis, that trying something different is almost heartbreaking.What should you eat? Start with the basics. Foods rich in vitamins such as fruits and leafy green vegetables, are the best way to ease your body into a detox program.Include foods in your diet that your body will naturally accept. Vitamin B is rich ingredient found in vegetables, and whole grains. It is the natural source to a healthy liver, which is the main body function responsible for cleaning the blood throughout the whole body.
Try to use natural and organic produce as much as possible. Foods you can eat raw or cooked are tomatoes, broccoli sprouts, cabbage, and lemons. These are all rich in Vitamin C which is excellent for building a strong immune system. Try adding sesame seeds to a salad, or drink a glass of green tea which is full of antioxidants. Whole grains should be a part of every meal. Whole grain can be bread, rice, pasta, cereals, bagels, tortillas, and unsalted crackers. Meat should be eaten no more than once per day. Meat such as wild game, chicken, and eggs are acceptable. Red meat is to be minimized. Chicken should be free-range and corn-fed. Fish can be eaten once to twice a day. Do not eat fish with a heavy metal intake such as shark, swordfish, and king mackerel. They will greatly affect your body. Salmon, sardines and white fish are better.

Let's face it. We love salt, it is evident in everything we eat. We put it on our favorite foods. We are so used to salt that eating anything without it tastes horrid! Eventually you will come to appreciate the natural taste of certain foods or a combination of foods, and salt will ultimately be a thing of the past. Over time salt can become toxic and deadly to your body.
We all know that processed sugars combined with carbohydrates are a recipe for disaster. Sneaking into that cookie jar after dinner, or splurging on that gallon of ice cream is sure to cause the insulin levels in your body to be highly unstable. They are also likely to cause depression. Try to stick to naturally sweet foods like berries, melons and bananas. Make a shake out of your favorite sweet fruits. Stay away from junk food permanently while you detox your body. Alcohol is the leading cause of liver disease or worse liver cancer. It is easy to throw back a few when enjoying your favorite sports, or attending a social gathering. While drinking causes a temporary state of euphoria, we all know what happens the next morning when you have had too much. Try non-alcoholic versions of your favorite drink and be refreshed the next morning. Just remember that starting a body detox diet is not easy, it is however extremely beneficial to your well being and a healthy lifestyle. You only have one body, treat it well.
How to Detox Your Body Recipe:
Easy Wilted Garlic-Sesame Salad
4 servings, about 65 calories each
1 tsp. olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 lb. spinach, stemmed, or 1 lb. Swiss chard, stems sliced, leaves torn or 1 lb. mixture of spinach and watercress
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
1 tsp. sesame seeds for garnish
Warm oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and stir until lightly browned, for 45 seconds. Add dark, leafy greens and toss for 2 to 4 minutes. Add pepper and seasonings. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Three Bean Salad
1 can green beans
1 can kidney beans
1 can wax beans
3/4 c. sugar 1/2 c.
vinegar 1/2 c
vegetable oil 1/2
tsp. salt
Drain beans. Heat remaining ingredients in a saucepan until heated through. Pour over beans and refrigerate before serving.

Some high end spas now use colonic treatment as a detox method. It really is a variation of the three day detox method recommended in Yoga training manuals. I have found that for people like myself who are no longer used to fatty foods, taking one tablespoonful of virgin olive oil will pretty much cleanse the colon out.

What a Great Hub. I've been detoxing and keeping my acidic balance low in my body for years.
I like to keep my salad interesting and tasty by using grilled chicken,avocado,sliced almonds,corn,tomatoes,shoestring carrots.
If you can make a sandwich wrap with it men will eat it! I used seasoned sliced almonds and no salad dressing.
