Drawing A Demon Creature

Drawing demons is fairly easy and one that I have done in other demon drawing tutorials, but here we have yet another example on how to draw a demon, this is different to other types of drawing articles I have done, because I now use lots of circles and cylinder shapes to make up the design of most of my drawings now and this is one of many ways to learn how to form drawings and construct them from these basic shapes.

Here we have our first drawing as an example, I have started out with an idea in mind that is presented as a collection of ordered shapes that logically display an obvious shape and body mass, now I've drawn a bit harder here, but when you are drawing it would be easier if you drew lighter, so you could rub out the lines as you go on with your drawing, or you could do what I did in the next step....

Demonic Beginnings The First Rough Drawing

Developing From Your Demon Draft Drawing

At this stage you can either draw over your first draft or trace the drawing but develop it on the page, which is what I did with my lightbox, I placed a new piece of A4 paper of the demon drawing in step 1, but instead of tracing directly I just used that drawing as a guide for the framework of our demon drawing and developed the arms and the face further, this made it easier for me to bring you step 2 as I didn't have to rub out any old hard pencil lines, just simple create a new drawing from the first.

Trace Over Your Demon Draft Sketch

By tracing over your demon drawing you can make it better with an open mind.

Build On The Demon You've Already Drawn

Building on your demon drawing is just a matter of drawing in the details, such as more defined eyes, teeth, muscles on the arms and the spikes too, this stage is just about improving the drawing by adding to it, notice the pencil lines are more controlled, because I already planned what the drawing would look like so it made my drawing hand more confident to finish the pencil drawing of our nice demon friend.

Drawing Demonic Details

Further development is needed to add the details that make up the final pencil drawing.

Inking The Demon Drawing

This is just a matter of inking over the pencil lines but also making those pencil lines more improved by variation of the lines and improving on the demon design and when you erase the pencil lines after inking your drawing, you end up with a nice clean professional drawing, that once copied and svaed on your computer can be printed out and coloured or coloured using your computer if you have Photoshop or some other fantastic art software.
