However, here's a brief description of each type to aid you in your purchase.  A plasma picture is brighter than an LCD, and an LCD screen is more prone to showing sharp edges.  Fortunately, plasma is a shopper's favorite and usually the cheaper of the two.  CRT style TVs are quickly going out of style, and if your goal is to keep up with the Joneses, then CRT might not be for you.
